Another occasional issue not listed in the wiki mentioned requires this solution: If you've rezzed as a cloud, and you find if you try and change clothing items to get yourself to rez your body, but receive an error that you have to wait till your shape has loaded first, then do the following, this took a couple of goes on SL support for them to figure out for me. Using which ever viewer you use CTRL & ALT & D to bring up with Advanced options on the menu. Now find Character, then Character Tests, then pick either Test Male, or Test Female. This then defaults your avatar to the basic shape, removing anything that might have upset SL. This worked for me, since everytime I logged in, on any Viewer, on any PC it gave me the Cloud problem, I was told this trick above, and viola! I was me again. Then you can just wear and attached your shape, clothing etc as you wish again and you should be fine!

Sometimes linden money transactions can be delayed by various issues. It may be worth waiting a while. But it may be the account paying you the L$14 is having difficulties, perhaps their account is empty, and then the atm won't be able to pay you, but the script still alerts you that you have been paid.

HP DV6 laptop doesn't normally have any issues running SL. (have used one myself). If you are struggling with the secondlife viewer, it might be worth trying an alternative. There are a number of approved viewers: Third Party Viewers list. Try one of these. I have found myself that occasionally some setting within Windows upsets the main SL viewer, but an alternative will work just fine. Wierd but true! - Other than that there must be an underlying issue with your Windows install. Check latest service packs, errors in the event log etc for clues.

Welcome to Second Life, I hope you find it as awesome as we do! It sounds like you where editing your house to me, if so it sounds like you have set the house to 'Phantom' which means you can walk through it. You need to right click while pointing at your house, and choose from the Pie menu, Edit, then the Object Tab. Now ensure there is no check in the Phantom box. Sometimes you may need to Fly to escape the floor you are now stuck in. Just hit your PGUP button on your computers keyboard, you'll jump for a moment and be free. (this may be all you need to do if your Phantom option is not checked - sometimes floors do eat you when you move a house you are stood inside.) Hopefully that helps!

Best option if it is a Mainland region is to post a support ticket here then the Lindens can look into your specific area. They may not be aware that particular server is suffering an issue, so if you sit and wait it may not happen. If the issue is related to any current known issues at least you can be sure your sim will be under review. If it is an island, then you need to chase the private island owner.

Oh, and further to Valeries answer, if there is nothing in your partners section of the dashboard, it may mean they withdrew the offer before you got chance to see who it was and got cold feet on you... sorry!... :smileysad:

Hi, Make sure you have selected Custom settings in the graphics options. If you have already done so, check the tick boxes for water reflections. If they are greyed out and you cannot check them, it most likely means you either need later drivers for your graphics card, or worse, your graphics adaptor on your PC is not able to render these options at all. Check the Secondlife System Recommendations, you may be able to upgrade your adaptor if you have a desktop pc to something more suitable. Hope that helps!

There are the odd few free areas around. But these are at land owners descretion. Not many around and those that are are soon filled up. Best way to get free accomodation is to get out there and make sl friends. You might find someone that has space to let you live so long as you're not a prim hungry person!. As others have said, you can also rent, and it can be pretty cheap. Just get searching, and you will find somewhere that you can arrive back at and still have a some waiting for you. Parcel and land owners can add you to ban lists, so you would be ejected straight away if you annoy them. But land owners with any sense will have set a short object return time, or no build for non members/owners. Remember unlike real life squatters dont have any rights, and no one needs a court order to remove you... just a click of eject....Good luck!
