  1. Im at the end of my patience and need advice if anyone has come across and figured out a fix. Basically i made suit of sci-fi armour and when i uploaded i ended up with the odd behaviour of having two faces on one face. That is to say where i UV mapped an area to be just one texture somehow has two faces that break up the area to be textured. I've read a few posts about problems in Blender where you join two objects with different named UV maps casuing bits to dissapear, i've also read about layered mesh where you can create mesh with two textures in one mesh face. Somehow i think these two topics could relate to my problem, but so far have not lead me to a fix. Image1: Sample of imported Mesh UVmapped I thought dam, i'll have to re-Uwrap the UV's all over again, but it's turend out to be harder than that. I delete the Materials, the textures the UVmaps so the model is just the model, yet somehow it still has this surface break up when imported to SL as just the model. Image 2: Same model with no Materials or UVmapping Blender is not showing me what SL is uploading. Theres NO setting for the surfaces, i don't know what the collda file is confusing the SL importer with to cause the fragmented double faced surface I really dont want to have to remake the Suit from scratch, does anyone have any suggestions on how to wipe this odd behaviour from my model when importing to Second Life? Is it possible that the darker areas in image two are extra verticies that im not able to see in blender? To add to this, i exported as a .obj, then re-imported to blender, then exported as Collada again, still same results.
  2. Each year the residents of the Steampunk city of New Babbage gatehr for a race pushing burnign barrels through the streest to scare off evil spirits. I have the escapdes experience running on Escapades Island and have alot more planned for it next year, but i also have another collection of experiences in New Babbage and i dont want to use the Escapdes experience key with what im doing in New Babbage as its a seperate thing. So can i have another key? please :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: New Babbage is a steampunk town that spans 11 Regions. In the past i have done story centric clue hunting games and also Roleplaying events. Currently we have a clocking in game that uses an external database to store users work attendance. I would like to present all my old stories together as one big adventure game while also offering Roleplaying experiences that take advantage of the XPtools.
  4. The reason is becasue the Mac Viewer is coded to use Legacey OpenGL which only supports up to 2.1 rather than Core OpenGL which uses 3.0+. I assume that for Linden Lab to add mac support for OpenGL3.0 + would require alot of mac only development and code rewriting that they cant afford. So we are stuck with OpenGL2.1 i'm afriad.
  5. I'm currently using an external Database to store Daily scores of clocking into work as part of an RP. Of course im now looking into the XP persistant database as an SL based alternative. But while external MySQL data basing has built in data management, SL has none. How are others managing their XP databases? is it possible to create and script my own database managment app in SL?
  6. Im on Yosemite, and 27" iMac late 2012. 3.4Ghz intel core 17. For me performance seems releativly stable. I did notice Anti Aliasing seemed to not change when swapping between higher and lower settings x2, x4, x6 etc. I dont get this isse some others have described. Im using the Official SL viewer and their Betas. I think i read somewhere about Yosemite using older GFX card drivers for some odd reason.
  7. A grid wide experience would allow For RPG experience over multiple regions. So I could see this being useful for large rp communities such as the Star Wars groups or the superhero groups who have many regions. Or for things like the Stargate system or DoctorWho taris systems. it would allow these groups to create devices that could streamline experiences within these communities.<br><br>One thing id use grid wide key is to allow users to use an inventory HUD where ever they want. People could then use my stuff on their own land to expand the experience. <br><br>Could make a help HUD for newbs that they can use where ever when they need it.<br>
  8. How experience Keys are used from one sim to another is somethign i wanted to learn more about... Is it not currently possible for me to use my expereience key on two regions? I can only use it on one region?

  13. OK but i see that , say with my Escapades Island experience, its got its own Profile with a picture of the island and a description. Im also working on a Cyberpunk experience and have a Steampunk experience. Can i make new experience profiles for those using the same Experience Key? or will i need to get new keys in order to create new Experience Profiles?

  15. I hope it's considered. I visited the HP lovecraft faire yesterday and they had a garden full of tentacle monsters which you first had to click to sit on, then click to animate. I would prefer if I ended up being grabbed by the tentacle monster just by walking into it. Who should I badger to make this happen?
  16. I have already tried the llTempAttach, llMoveToTaget, TakeControls idea. It worked kinda well but the take controls does not stop people turning left or right for somereason i cant yet thathom. All i want is the avatar be grabbed and frozen in place at a specific location in relation to the object they bumped into.

  18. It says you obtain a beta experience Key from the Lab. After the Beta is over and i wanted to make a new expereince with a new Key, how will i be doing that?
  19. Can we has this please http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSit , to make it easier for us to make things that require an avaatr to be automatically sat on an object. Example. Evil plant on the ground. Avatar walks into it and is automatically sat on the object an animated to be swallowed by the plant as part of the experience. example2. Things like climbing ropes that need you to be sat on the object to climb. This would mean i dont have to script over the top work arounds. please!
