  1. I am not sure how relevant this is now as I haven't been paying attention to EEP lately. When the testing went live on the beta grid I asked about the different (four) levels that you could have on your parcel as I was very interested. The answer I got then was that it involved an EXPERIENCE and scripting with that (I have no clue how experiences work). Since I don't want to ask each and every person to join an experience at LEA6 I gave up on the idea of different skies for different levels. When I went back recently trying to find those early comments I had no luck at all so can't point to them. The EEP feedback thread would likely be the place to find out the current status of that four skies ability. I read the beginning comments of that thread as they scroll by but I haven't seen any mention. Again, haven't been paying much attention of late. Good luck .
  2. If you have more than ONE UV map (sometimes there are VERY legitimate reasons for this BTW) you need to make sure that you have the one you want to use selected when you export. Normally if you have your UVs messed up you will not be able to see the TEXTURE after baking in Blender. This in Cycles but I am pretty sure the same sort of thing applies in Blender Render. You cannot have ONE UVmap for part of the object (like the wood shelves) and another for the other part (s) (like the cement blocks.
  3. Well I am confused too and not much in favor of "solid black background" LOL. So here is my "entry" for the magazine. Had fun doing it anyway and that's what counts. Correct ratio - four times the size stated so should be clear enough :D.
  4. There seem to be some issues with SOME graphics cards so posting the specs of your computer exactly might be helpful. Not my area, but others may have some ideas. Also a screenshot of what you are SEEING (even if gray) would be helpful. What you have said so far isn't enough for people to advise.
  5. Good to know it has been an issue from the beginning. I couldn't remember. I am kind of more used to it than most as it was a BIG issue in Opensim with folks coming in from the hypergrid. No way around it there either. When I redo my shop sometime I will keep this in mind. Thanks. I think the Places Pages could be very useful and "I" would use them if more folks actually kept theirs up with info :D. Agree that they could have a big more polish.
  6. I tested and added to my original note above but yes, for me too. If this WASN'T the case before then a JIRA might be good. It's been over a year since I moved and I can't remember where the Places landing point was then.
  7. I just tested mine --- or had a friend test the Places Page link. MINE takes people to the middle of the sim (128 128) rather than the set landing point. Since I know that has been a map issue for-e-ver I placed a welcome area at that point when I designed the sim. I SUSPECT that if you have the ROUTING set to the Landing Point ONLY -- that might fix it. Doesn't work when tested. It is likely important to know that it is not ONLY the places pages where folks might end up in your wall :D. If you already tried the dedicated landing point, then there is likely no fix other than redesign. Again, not a new issue. EDIT: I checked my STORE and had a similar issue as you did. It looks like the places pages defaults to the center of the parcel whatever size the parcel IS. I did change the landing point but it didn't help. You could put in a ticket, but I suspect that they know this is an issue. The Places Pages haven't been used that much but they may become more popular in the future. Meanwhile the folks coming to my store just fall though the floor a bit and end up in the prefabs room. Not horrible but certainly something for folks to keep in mind when designing their area. Thanks for writing about this to remind us all.
  8. Most of us interpreted the buildings at SSP84 as "trailers" and they do seem to be about the same size as the smaller bungalows at the Preview. I can only reference something that Ebbe said long ago at a Town Hall meeting being that some folks would like larger house and some would likely want smaller. That doesn't mean that the LOTS or land impact will be less than a 1024. He also said something around that time (again a long time ago if my memory is fairly clear) that I interpreted as introducing HIGHER Premium levels with more perks but not lower. Since we haven't heard anything about the different Premium Tier levels in a long while, that might not be on the roadmap any longer. Who knows. They certainly COULD make a "premium lite" level but I am not seeing much of an advantage for them -- unless perhaps the "lite" premium didn't get a stipend (that would likely help the bottom line :D). Perhaps someone has some newer info that I missed along the way and can add it in here. However, those trailers haven't been moved over OR the sim renamed so there is no reason to believe they will be before the unveiling. I had hoped :D. As you say, they "could" be a sort of refuge camp for the 512 folks but it sounds like it will be quite awhile before the first Linden Homes disappear into the ether.
  9. As far as I know that is incorrect. Patch said "a few weeks" a couple of weeks ago. The moles have been working hard and part of SSP has been moved over ----- but THINK about it :D. If everyone that wanted to move or get a home put in a ticket? LOL. Officially (Patch I think but Blush can confirm) the process will be "something like" the current Linden Home process. Those with 512 homes will of course need to pack up and give back those homes before getting a new home. They will also need to give up any 512 lots they have (folks have been selling) if they don't want to pay increased tier. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of info here on the forums. The SSP thread and the Linden Homes Preview thread(s) mainly.
  10. I like that very much (17 years teaching art classes) :D. My only comment would be that the composition would be better with the barn moved off center to the left with more of the sloping hill showing. Maybe some cropping at the bottom of the grasses so that they don't seem to be floating. I am not getting the "overworked" bit at all --- and I am a minimalist at heart LOL. Please see my comment above on "art teachers". In MY classes we did critiques at the beginning of each class. They were NOT mandatory. The point was "what could make this better"? Oftentimes it was the composition. Technique improves usually with practice :D. Obviously not everyone agreed about what would be 'better'. I rarely assumed that MY comment had more relevance than the comments of the students.
  11. A couple of thoughts on this: Really --- the point of art that most long-time artists "get" is THE PROCESS is the goal. Someone not long ago wrote that if no one saw or used my creations I would stop making them. Was that true? I decided it was not. I make them mostly for myself. If others like them too, then that'a a plus. There is a great sense of accomplishment when an item is finished -- long before it goes out into the virtual world. And a RL story: Long ago when I was taking art classes in college, my instructor "critiqued" a pencil sketch (a big one) saying that == and I quote "it isn't working". Now that was VERY unhelpful LOL. Was it the composition? The perspective (which was in the surrealistic vein)? The values? etc etc. Personally, I thought it was working just fine. A handful of years later when I had made it somewhere near the top of my genre's particular mountain, the same art teacher came up to me outside a lounge (she had had a few by that time) to tell me what a good artist I had always been etc etc. Sometimes you simply need to trust yourself.

    Problem in MP

You can now get REDELIVERY on most items on the Marketplace. So go to your Marketplace History and see if you can get that to work. I have had folks use it to get automatic redeliveries of my products.
  13. The demo home areas have places for meetings and you can see lots of places on the SSP map that "look" like they are community areas. Well of COURSE Blush beat me LOL.
  14. Well one would EXPECT that there would be some kind of upgrade option, but since we haven't really heard much about the new premium levels (along with many other things that were mentioned over a year ago) it is difficult to say when or IF this is actually going to happen. There are plenty of things on the "roadmap" that fall off into the dumpster over time -- or get put so far back on the bookshelf they .... I think most folks are just paying their regular premiums if it is a yearly thing and not worrying about it.
  15. $7 a month extra tier compared to @1.50ish mo for yearly premium seems like a no-brainer for anyone who can afford $72US in one lump :D.
  16. Doesn't appear to be happening. While most everyone (at least LOTS of vocal people) wanted a standard default avatar with sliders ---- The Lab opted to let others do their work (not all that suprising really). On the plus side with Marvelous Designer clothing -- most things will work on "human" avatars as well as anime one (Raviolli made some cute ones). So there are lots of new custom (but human) avatars out in the STORE now. I have bought a couple of free ones for whenever I log in again. Not sure when that might be. Not the platform I thought I was investing in. Not alone there LOL. But yes, definitely a learning curve now for new folks. Not so bad in the past with ONLY the default legacy avatars. So the ones with let's say chutzpah will persevere, and others will move on.

    Paying my tier

Both tier and premium get charged to your credit card on their due date. So just have your credit card info up to date. The alternative would be to cash out Lindens (if you are earning some) and have that turn into US dollars which will show up in your account. US dollars are used FIRST before billing credit card. So your choice.
  18. No, not practice although there are times when I am sure many artists would like to be able to create "better" technically. The key really IMO is that you need to have something to SAY and then be able to translate that into your art. Color theory, composition, perspective are all important -- relative of course to the type of art you are working at; they just aren't the MOST important thing :D.
  19. Just noting that when I asked about these kinds of teleporters (maybe last year) I was told by several people that they no longer worked because of some greifing possibilities and that the script function was retired. So BEST to test out (as always) on a demo inworld before purchasing. Just a thought. I am a cam and sit kinda teleporter gal
  20. Later note: A few days after my last post the gray and blurry returned again. No changes by me or new programs added. I can only assume that it is something in the Win10 (pro) update that is causing the issue. Good luck to other folks; hopefully it will get fixed in the future. Meanwhile I am trying to embrace the nostalgia of grayness and loading textures,
  21. I definitely noted that it was the empty (and unnamed) regions "missing". Still not encouraged. Happy that you feel better about the "long, drawn out process". Not working well for me though :D. They could move the whole continent very quickly; we have seen that. Even it it remained empty and designated Openspace on the servers .... Making a smaller continent would also be an option --- adding to that later.
  22. @Coby Foden's screenshot and idea seems more viable to me this morning (sadly so as it is SO very ugly). IF the unfinished land was going to get chopped off then it would be so very much better to tailor the coastline into a more natural look. hmmmmm. Right now it is just depressing (to me anyway).
  23. I personally hope that isn't true -- and don't think it will be as it looks so very tacky and even with some unfinished continents in the past, none to my knowledge were THIS bad. BUT I do very much thank you for posting the picture. I just thought that MY map wasn't working well (not all that unusual).
  24. Sorry. Likely my confusion. Can't REALLY say though as I have been mostly looking at the moved sim LOL. But LIKELY just me. Of course SOME houses (two sims worth) did disappear from SSP and haven't returned. We may never know all the secrets :D.
