If there were any way to turn off hovertext on breedable boxes, maybe they would be reported less often.  As it was, I halfway expected to hear plaintive meows from the boxes every time I walked by.

Unborn KittyCats whether stored in boxes or as images on a prim do not have hovertext. They are unborn and can stay that way indefinitely.

However, when you see hovertext on a KittyCat, whether stored as an image or other prim-saving form, is most likely (but not always) because the cat is "alive," is eating and is likely breeding.

See below unborn kitten box and image. No hovertext.

  2. @Quartz Mole I wish I was paying more attention. When it happened, the "get a HUD" message repeated each time I clicked the target basket. On the third or fourth or fifth click, I got the candy. The problem persisted after tp to the next basket. After the second consecutive basket fail, I remember reattaching the HUD. But it happened again on the next basket, immediately after reattaching! This sequence constitutes one episode. I recall two, possibly three such episodes across the 800 collected baskets, all regardless of region.

This weekend I wore the HUD and tried to replicate. Of the 39 baskets collected, there were no incidents. I may scout around a little more. If there is anything else to report, I will post here.

  3. I keep my kittycats in mainland sky, but I do have two giant size "mega" kitties breeding in Belli. They are my pets and mostly roam around the property.

Boxes of their unborn kitties are displayed. The boxes do not create any more lag than any other box creates, so they don't count.

As an experiment and took the kitties off to see if frame rate would be affected. It didn't seem to matter.

    My 2 cents.

  4. While it's reasonable, the problem with limiting the number of old LH regions in order to concentrate them also forces affected residents to give up the neighbors and surroundings they are used to. Good luck with that one. But maybe they will get first dibs on the new shoreline to incentivize moving to Belli.  (Let's all run and get us some old LH's before it's too late!)

Does anybody remember how they got residents out of mainland and into Zindra?

Peeve 2: Cats who open doors so that my bedroom is too warm to sleep. It's not funny when I have to constantly get up all night long to close that door, every night, for months but I'm sure many will laugh at my pain as usual and say I have no right to be grumpy.

At our old house, our bedroom door didn't latch properly.  Old house.  We had the same issue with the dang cat coming in and annoying us while we slept.  Hook and eye latch did the trick.  At our current house with our current cat, we put on of those pet doors on our bedroom door so she can go in and out whenever.  She used to hide under the bed and want out in the middle of the night.  Now, I don't have to worry about if she's in there when I go to bed.

Peeve: Rowan's cats not scratching the door to bits and pulling up the carpet when they couldn't get through the old door... AND so MY cat is still waking us up.

I'd love to get a pet door, only I like my very beautiful panelled doors too much...

We took the door part off of it eventually because the one cat seemed afraid of it.  I don't think she could see very well so it might have just seemed like a solid surface.  She even watched the other cats go in and out but wouldn't even try.

  6. I stayed with the old LHs for maybe a year and a half after Belli started. I knew all about Belli.

I resisted because I loved how open my old home was, modern with floor to ceiling windows and crazy high ceilings. When I looked at Belli homes, I felt claustrophobic. Also, Belli was laggier.

Eventually I moved into a houseboat, which still has the most open feel. Now I've mostly overcome the claustrophobia. The trads helped. Lol!

  7. Oh bummer! I got there late and didn't hear about the bear :(. And my laptop was struggling too.

Nevertheless, I thought the Swaginator party was a good idea; I appreciate any kind of hunt.

I don't know how many newbies were there, but I think a connection with the Lindens and the Moles is a good idea to help engage them.

  8. I love the extra prims with the 2048! But I was surprised that all the lots were rectangular. Some people have done spectacular jobs decorating the rectangular lots using the back yard as a farm and/or stable area. Mine is kind of empty and I would have kept trying for the square.

  9. Our 500 cable connection is pretty fast despite being received wirelessly. Ookla measures the signal with at least 50 tabs open at nearly 600 Mbps. For another $20, they will upgrade the speed to 1000 but I don't think we need it. Maybe one day they will load up this node and speed will drop, but for now it is good. This cable is also significantly cheaper than the fiber option.

My takeaway is that fiber optic is unlikely to notably improve SL performance, so we will stick with cable for now. SL runs well enough. If we decide to go with fiber, that can be installed at any time, but they will only waive the $200 installation fee now. Oh well.

    Thanks everyone for the input.
