  1. Hello ruffai, you can try to update your graphics driver, see: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073 If that doesn't help, you can still try to log in with a third-party-viewer (e.g. Singularity or Cool VL viewer). See: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Downloads
  2. Hello ellonsoft, this is a public user-driven forum. Please use the options-menu at the top of this page (and select 'edit') to remove personal information from your post. We are no Linden Lab employees here and cannot help you with Billing issues. For Billing support visit this page: https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  3. Hello alexus, next time you have a problem, please remember that it is extremely important in order to be able to help you, that you tell us the error message that you're seeing. Since I have absolute no details to your case, I recommend that you visit this page with general trouble-shooting tips for users that cannot log in: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/login_fail A very common issue is A) you misspelled or forgot your password - then you can recover it there: https://secondlife.com/my/account/request.php or B) the region you're trying to connect to is offline, in that case just enter the name of any other region into the 'Start At' field on the viewer's login-screen (e.g. "Sandbox Goguen" - without quotes). Good luck! If you ever change your mind and want to be more specific, please use the 'options' menu at the top of this page, and select 'edit' to add additional information. Thanks!
  4. Hello Claair, one way would be to first find a ZHAO - AO that is modifiable on the marketplace, here is one for males: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TuTys-Lover-male-AO-Free/2727721 and here one for females for example: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/TuTys-Elite-sexy-female-AO-Free/2725843 Then wear it and put your desired animations in it and edit the Default - notecard in it, and replace the animation-name next to [ Standing ] and [ Walking ] inside with your walk and stand-animation, and remove all other lines so the complete content of the notecard looks like this: [ Standing ]YourDesiredSTANDanimationName [ Walking ]YourDesiredWALKINGanimationName When you're done, save the notecard, click the 'menu' button on the AO's hud and click the 'reset' button so that the AO loads your edited notecard with the changes (or you can move the notecard into your inventory, delete the notecard in the AO, and drag and drop the changed notecard into the AO - this should automatically trigger a reset of the AO).
  5. Hello Kimmie, please look here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Lag Some of the tips mentioned on that page are to lower the cache size, and to switch the Texture Compression setting.
  6. There are some efforts from independent third-party- developers to bring phoenix back to life, but I have serious doubts that they will really finish that. How about Singularity or Cool VL Viewer: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Downloads - have you tried those? There are also some other Third-Party-viewers listed here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory And here is a list of *old* and new viewer-versions: http://virtyou.com/viewer_track/
  7. Hello, first I'd recommend to clear your cache. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-improve-Viewer-performance/ta-p/1316923#Section_.2 If that doesn't help you can still make a clean install. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clean_Install If that still doesn't help you should contact support. https://support.secondlife.com/contact-support/
  8. Hello Kimmie, log in once with a different viewer and let everything load. Then log out and use your preferred viewer again. If that doesn't help, please update your post by using the Options button at the top of this page. ETA: A list of viewers can be found here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Downloads And here's the download page for the official Linden Lab viewer: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/
  9. Hello Reznix, you can deactivate the backview-cam for the appearance mode in the viewer menu Me-> Preferences-> Move & View -> Automatic position for: Appearance. Helis and planes are scripted, and deliberately change the camera of the person who sits on the vehicle, to enhance the driver's experience. What a plane/vehicle exactly does or does not with your cam depends on how the creator has set the vehicle up.
  10. Hello tiffanyhartwell, I am sending you some L$. The testing grid is meant to be used to test server upgrades, though.
  11. Hello Datchflower, that's a known issue at the moment, I believe everyone has that problem with new friends. Just wait for a couple of weeks until it is fixed.
  12. Hello Salli, you can track your support history here: https://support.secondlife.com/history/ (you must be logged in to the page, of course)
  13. You can try the following to improve the look of your sculpties: Improve the look of Sculpties! 1. Enable the "Advanced" menu in your viewer if you haven't already done so by pressing following shortcuts on your keyboard: - Ctrl-Alt-D for PCs or - Opt-Ctrl-D for MACs 2. Select "Debug Settings" / "Show Debug Settings" (depending on the viewer you are using) near the bottom from the "Advanced" menu. 3. Scroll down to "RenderVolumeLODFactor" (the list will show when you click the arrow next to the blank input field) - or copy and paste RenderVolumeLODFactor directly into the input field. 4. Set the value to 4.00, then simply close the window (DON'T press the "Reset to default" button because this will revert your new setting).
  14. Hello Brea, you should upgrade your graphics card's driver: http://www.amd.com/de/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx
  15. Hello andys, here is a huge list of old versions, but it's strongly recommended though to use the latest version of the LL viewer or (active) third party viewers at least: http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fvirtyou.com%2fviewer_track%2f&d=4769987405944183&mkt=de-DE&setlang=de-DE&w=_t4ARwCw9_t5I_DLNc6LT0O5NnbQDjzi (This is a cached version of the page, the regular address is: http://virtyou.com/viewer_track/ ) And here is the link to the official Third-Party-Viewer-Directory which also lists some inactive (older) viewers: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
  16. Hello Lydia, this can happen when you block a user by displayname (that's a feature of some third-party-viewers) whose name contains some unicode characters. The only thing you can do, is to open a bug-report case at https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/MyJiraHome.jspa ( reference: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7550 ) and hope that they fix it for you.
  17. Hello Shekina, yes you can use a prepaid card at one of the authorized reseller- websites from this list: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Linden_Dollar_%28L$%29_Authorized_Reseller_Program
  18. Hello Masongequam, you cannot get ranks in SL. Of course there are some role-playing sims where you can participate, and get 'ranks' in specific games / roleplays. But there aren't any general ranks in SL. The only real rank in SL is that of Linden Lab employees. However, you can get ranks here in the community forums. This rank depends mostly on the number of posts you write.
  19. Hello kimbennetta, please check this trouble-shooting guide: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109 If you want us to help you directly, please tell us exactly what error message you see when you're trying to login. A very common failure is due to some DNS problems. In this case, it'll help to switch over to google DNS, see: http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ Good luck
  20. Hello bnyx! First make sure that the viewer (SecondLife.exe) and the slplugin.exe are not blocked from your Firewall/Antivirus or Antimalware-software. Then always use Second Life with a wired LAN (if possible), and not on any wireless network (like WLAN or mobile network). Make sure you are using the latest version of the viewer: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ And, if nothing helps, you could try to use one of the available Third Party Viewers: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
  21. Hello Felix, unfortunately only Linden Lab's billing support can help you out. Usually the payment should get processed within a week (5 working days). Please use one of the contact options below: Billing support phone numbers Toll-Free (US/Canada) 800.294.1067 Long-Distance 703.286.6277 Billing team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 22. Hello EmalethCalo, so far I have only heard about this issue for users using Singularity Viewer. If that's the case, it should work again when you login once with a different viewer ( http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ ) In case you're having the issue with the official viewer instead, usually reinstalling the viewer should fix the issue. If that doesn't work, please contact support at support.secondlife.com/contact-support (or Singularity support: http://www.singularityviewer.org/contact )
  23. Hello AmandaCollen, please try a clean install of Second Life (but make sure to create a backup of your chatlog-folder when following the directions): see http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 And make sure that Second Life and the slplugin.exe are whitelisted (not blocked) from your Firewall and Anti Virus software.
  24. Hello BrookeNoir, first question: what's your viewer? The 'save' button in the official viewer is the highlighted button at the top left of the 'edit shape' menu in the picture: The 'Save As' button at the bottom will save the shape to a new shape-item in your inventory, but it will leave your currently worn shape unchanged.
  25. Hello Ronni, have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes the marketplace website doesn't behave quite right with Internet Explorer.
