  1. Hello MarieAlexander, Set RenderGLCoreProfile to TRUE and relog. (Open the Advanced menu (Ctrl-Alt-D on a PC, or Opt-Ctrl-D on a Mac.) > Debug Settings -> navigate to RenderGLCoreProfile, and set it to TRUE). Sadly this setting can decrease your FPS. And it can also lead to crashes when you upload mesh models. Reference: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-29600
  3. Hello Jasenika, sadly this happens for all new friends this month - it's a bug that the makers of Second Life are aware of, and they are working on a fix. To see who is really in your friend list, you can trust the information from the People floater of the viewer.
  4. Hello lLyrik, tell your friend to wear the test character (Ctrl-Alt Q for the Develop menu and then Avatar - Character Tests) and then relog. This should make him get rid of the AO. Then he can add/replace all parts of his regular avatar one by one, again.
  5. Hello crazykatz, I'm very sorry that happened to you. Create a ticket here and let Linden Lab know what happened : https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ you actually can disable the L$ buying-option by removing the associated credit card / paypal-account from your account: https://secondlife.com/my/account/billing.php?lang=en-US You can buy Lindendollars from one of these third-party services: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Linden_Dollar_%28L$%29_Authorized_Reseller_Program , or just temporarily add your payment method when you want to buy something, and remove it immediately afterwards. And always use secure passwords (that include upper+lowercase letters, symbols and numbers)
  6. Hello Rigamortis, try to login with the official viewer once, wait until your inventory and outfit fully loaded, then log out, and try again with Singularity. Here is the link to SL's official viewer: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ Good luck!
  7. Hello Alexios, this sounds like a common issue with a weak internet-connection. E.g. a WiFi-connection. You should ask your friend if it gets better if he uses a wired LAN instead.
  8. Hello Narumee, you should request a region restart and also clear your cache. More info: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clear_Cache_OS https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ "Land & Region" => "Report offline region" to request a region-restart.
  9. Hello Madeliefste, you can set up a couple of (very dim) local lights around your house - since only the 6 or 7 nearest local lights will be rendered, that should keep the lights of your neighbour out of your home. Apart from that there's no other easy way. You can use a third-party viewer that allows you to derender or block the light-emitting objects. Or you can lower your draw distance. I bet you already tried to talk with your neighbour to reduce the range of his lights? There's still the option to AR him if your neighbour doesn't stop bothering you with his club.

    skins not loaded

Hello Blade, if you have a multi-monitor setup, make sure that you rebake your skin only on your primary monitor.
  11. Hello Eduardo, the only way to do that is via a bot (a scripted agent). Scripts don't have the power to trigger the drop down group invite to appear. But there are scripts where visitors can click on a link in chat to make the group profile window appear, where they then can click 'Join Group': http://prettyflywebsite.com/wp/?p=316 or another example here: http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/content-creation/11643-script-sends-group-invite.html
  12. Hello Waylon, without knowing any details, did you already request a region-restart? You can request it here: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ Pick Land & Region -> Report offline region from the two dropdowns.
  13. Hello Brian, when you rent or own a parcel, you can tick the checkbox 'Show place in search' (viewer menu World-> About land-> Options) at a weekly 30L$ fee. Also you can add events to the Second Life event calendar on this page: https://secondlife.com/my/community/events/index.php?lang=en-US
  14. Hello Novgstommy, you can search for a parcel that's big enough through land search, a 2048m2 - 4096m2 parcel should be sufficient: http://search.secondlife.com/?query_term=&collection_chosen=land&isLeftColOpen=True&sort=land_type_asc&purchase_type=Rental&area_low=2048&area_high=4096&type=priv_fullregion&price_low=&price_high= You can also pick 'Homestead' from the dropdown on the left of the search-page, that are cheaper regions with slightly less capacity. If you're not familiar with building in Second Life yet, you can look out for an existing classroom on the marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/products/search?search[category_id]=34&search[keywords]=classroom&search[maturity]=General&search =1&search[per_page]=12
  15. Hello, could these objects maybe reach into adjacent parcels? Try going to a sandbox (e.g. Sandbox Goguen) and rez them there, maybe you took a coalesced item into your inventory accidentally (when you pick up more than 1 item at once).
  16. Hello Ande2013, you have to pick the desired rating from the dropdown next to the search-field on the marketplace website. See:
  17. Hello Puriru, this is a common bug that - hopefully - will get fixed soon.
  18. Hello Katie, you will need to log in to Second Life with a V3 viewer like LL Viewer or Firestorm once. Then it will most likely work again with your preferred viewer. You can download the latest LL viewer here: http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ Good luck!
  19. Hello Siofra, you cannot set an individual online-status-preference for individuals that are not on your friendslist, sadly.

    Missing Inventory

Hello, locate your cache folder on your hard drive and delete it manually, then reboot your PC and log in again, and let your inventory fully load. Here's some info on how to find the cache folder: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clear_Cache_OS
  21. Hello Philip, just choose 'Media' from the dropdown in the build-tools' "Texture" tab that says 'Materials'. See here: http://i.imgur.com/ihEfzxl.png The button has been moved/converted to make more space for the new Materials options.
  22. Hello MysteryDraegan, where did you buy the horse? There are multiple brands of horses in SL. I guess you should buy pet food from the same merchant where you bought the horse.
  23. Hello Daje, please try the following: log out from any viewer, then look for the Cache folder on your hard-drive - it should be under the following location (if you didn't specify another folder): Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[uSERNAME]\Local Settings\Application Data\Firestorm Windows Vista, 7, or 8: C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Firestorm Manually delete the entire folder (make sure you don't have any chat log files stored in the same folder - for what reason ever). Then reboot your PC and log in with the SL viewer again. Does that help?
  24. Hello Maxwell, Cry Engine 3 is only *open* for non-commercial use. Thus the anwser to your question is: not affordable.
  25. Hello Tango, choose a different region on the login screen of the viewer! Probably the region you're trying to connect to is offline E.g. type "Sandbox Goguen" (without quotes) into the "Start At" field from the login screen, before you login.
