  2. No, I didn't Photoshop real man picture into my snapshot. The "guy" standing there was actually a statue. Very realistically human looking anyway. Well done. It would be cool to have that statue man as an avatar. To scare people.
  3. Firestorm 64 bit version seems to handle memory well. I've been watching it what it does when being in very crowded place for long time and then going away to some quiet region. Once I was doing that I noticed that Firestorm was using a bit over 4 GB of memory. After teleporting away to quiet place the memory usage started to drop and it went well under 2 GB. So it does release the memory well what it does not need anymore. Earlier when we had only the 32 bit version the memory usage went up and up gradually and never went down. The end result was that the viewer crashed due to out of memory. I don't know if that still happens with 32 bit version as I'm always using the 64bit version now.
  4. Waiting for the green light - with stranger. He looks like he has dropped straight from RL to SL. He forgot to wear an avatar, I think. I think that my head is still too small compared to his head.

    That works too. In Firestorm viewer the same thing is, from the menu select: "Avatar, Avatar Health, Stop Avatar Animation" That will stop the dance (and any other animation going on).

  7. Today I TPed to the Easter Egg hunt place. Upon arrival, I noticed... poof... my Maitreya body was detached (nothing else was attached to that attachment point). Sometimes it happens also that some attachments are detached when crossing region borders fast. It can happen also when when un-sitting from objects, just like you experienced. It's just how SL acts occasionally. There are various reasons why might happen. Anyway, those things don't happen very often to me though. Things which help to keep things attached (most of the time) is to make sure that: 1. Nothing else is attached to the attachment point where your body is attached. 2 . And nothing else is attached to the attachment point where your head is attached. (Even after these steps are taken care of, things might get detached occasionally.)

  9. I remember from the old days when we wore applier clothes on our system bodies. When there was huge lag in places with lots of people everybody looked like those drones - all just dull grey. It looked like everybody was naked without clothes and skins. Few days old newbies were wondering "Why are we all naked here?" So if in the old days such "nudity" was allowed and common thing to happen, I would say that those drones are ok anywhere in SL. Provided that they don't have the feared female nipples, of course.
  10. For me it sure took long time to test different mesh heads before I finally bought one, not so long ago. I liked my system head a lot, it had taken years of tweaking it to its present stage. So I grew to see it as me. The thing that started to bug me lately was the static appearance, no animations on it except for the eye blinking. When I got the mesh head I didn't even try to imitate the exact system head looks on it. I just tweaked it a little bit here and there so that I was pleased with the looks. I feel that my mesh head looks prettier than my system head, somewhat different but nicer. The subtle animations really make a big difference too, they give life to the head. I consider my going from system head to mesh like a very successful virtual plastic surgery. I'm pleased. - - - - Anyway, system heads can be made very beautiful too with nice skin. So there is no hurry to go to mesh if there is no personal need for facial animations. - - - -

  12. The hair was created by Digit Darkes. (It appears that she does not have shop anymore, at least not inworld.) In the hair properties it reads that I have acquired it Dec 4, 2008. So it's quite ancient hair. The hair is named as: "**Digit Darkes-NATURALe-Defiance - Straight Night Fire"
  13. And if you want some text on top of the image do this: 1. First add your text. At the end of the text hold down SHIFT-key and then press ENTER or just press ENTER if you want more space between the image and text. 2. Click the image, it goes below the text. 3. Click in the white area near the image and press ENTER. 4. Now you can type your other text below the image.
  14. While cleaning my inventory I found this "out of the ordinary" flexi hair. Amazingly it's not even render heavy. Definitely a keeper for some special occasions.
  15. Yes, the lips corner problem what Akasha showed depends on how the lipstick is made. I guess in many heads the corner problem can be minimized - in some heads more, in some less - with well made lipstick.
  16. The issue really is that in many heads the lips actually are modeled to be duck lips. No skin or shape adjusting will not make the duck lip effect to go away on those heads. However there are some bento mesh heads with nice non-duck lips. (For example Vista Lia has nice lips, but then Vista Diana has duck lips, aarrgghhh...)

But there will be a fee to discourage people changing their name too often.

  21. What I often wear are green or brown eyes. At the moment I like the green ones the most, they have a nice contrast with tanned skin. What I don't like to wear are very dark eyes of any colour as they tend to look rather featureless.
  22. Maybe it wouldn't be impossible to make it so that a person can keep the existing good last name and change only the bad first name? Like this: 1. Write your first name. 2. Keep your existing last name - or select new last name from the list.
