Do you know what a Sundown Town is? I assure you they are very real & still exist in America. There is a correlation between the items that have been referenced & the real life inspirations to hate groups. Pointing it out isn’t being blind to my own shortcomings. You don’t have to agree with me. You don’t have to give any of it another thought since you feel immune from the goings on in my corner of the world.

The Purge references…. Not just the masks from the movie labeled as Purge but the XX on several items as well. & the MAGA flag “parody” that has a disclaimer attached because what it references has already been addressed to the creator. The “ok” gloves. The original item I referenced. Just me virtual signaling, keyboard warrioring, being woke by questioning the intent. Where is the line? Maybe there isn’t one. Shouldn’t be. Because I whole heartedly believe in being safe to fly a pride flag, of organizing a peaceful protest. At least those self labels makes it a little easier to recognize what you are dealing with.

We, I went to bed, “woke up” (I know of a few folks on here I had to beat to the punch on that just to deflate their ball a little.). & my little thread blew up (in comparison to anything else I post). Like I referred to earlier, several forumites gave me pause to reconsider my initial response- impulse to believe that particular item has no place in SL as make believe fodder since it is identifiable as the “uniform’ for a hate group. *insert the tv infomercial voice over* “But wait- there’s more!” I thought, maybe I had over reacted. To be clear, I have no issue with tropical print shirts. It’s the connection of the tactical gear with the print that is identifiable with a hate group. Kinda like how a white bed sheet is just a bed sheet till someone cuts eye holes in it & runs around the countryside (& I won’t keep typing on that thought because we all know what happened/s in that situation). I looked up the shop on MP just now. Thanks to all who weighed in & to those who were unaware of that ideological group , now you are. I think the shirt with the vest is offered with the connection I drew to it. Does that mean that person is endorsing that group? Maybe not. Having an uncle who succumbed to the affects of Agent Orange, I wasn’t amused by the name of the place. I didn’t put any effort into contacting the club, I simply left. Maybe the creator doesn’t recognize the connotation of the Hawaiian print & tactical vest. (personally I think they do). I know it doesn’t matter what I thought, but I wanted to read other forum contributors thoughts on it. Some of ya’ll are pretty good at helping me see things from a different perspective.

I’m going to share a screenshot of what appears to be boogaloo boy related content for sale during a weekend event in SL. I question if it should be allowed on the grid. If unfamiliar with their movement, I won’t fill in the blanks for you. Their platform on racism & desire to ignite a second American Civil is easy enough to google for yourself. People gather to pass acres in the land building game. It’s been a few years, so I can’t remember exactly how many degrees of separation you can pass & receive them w/ other players. But I’m not sure how 8 is a factor, there’s 11 levels of ranking. But I learn something new everyday, so maybe someone w more insight will see our side conversation & chime in. I’m just curious why you say groups of 8? I played TE for a decade & never encountered a reason for groups of 8. I’ve known some people with more alts for the game than letters in the alphabet. They were good friends to have to clear lucky letter chairs 😄

I’ve been recommended lots of things over 2 & a half decades. Nothing really helps other than avoiding known triggers. Thank you tho 😃

It’s been diagnosed as Ménière’s disease (it’s not a disease). Weather affects it (storms in particular so spring & summer are 😩) as does position (can’t lay on my right, have to get into bed from one side knees first) & can not turn my head to the right very far. Certain types of video camera taping, carnival rides, reading books. I have tinnitus & hearing loss as well. It just started one day in 1999.

Thanks for the response. No I know it would be instant. I can’t even move the screen much in SL. Pixie can dance & move, but screen must be still. No video games. “Found footage” movies like Blair witch project are a no go, too.

Oh it’s even worse. It’s like the price is right wheel in my head when it gets going. Complete with hot flashes, rash & nausea. Have not been able to lay at all for any length of time on my right side since 1999. I know what mouselook does, I’m just curious how VR would differ. .

I wouldn’t be able to try to begin w because I get dizzy easily- but/& since I could never try, how would SL VR differ from mouse-look (which makes me dizzy)?

Wooooooooow. I clicked to see it really was Linden Lab & not a fan page. I would be livid if I were a creator & SL was actively pushing particular brands like this. Not sure there is any practical recourse or alternative for other creators but I have to believe those videos serve as endorsements that will sway 1st time mesh buyers. Potentially costing other shops those sales that buyers might have been unsure on. Really poor choice of action LL.

Where are people coming up with the belief that folks can or should just pack up and move across the country to escape persecution, crappy healthcare, failing education systems, nightmare weather & terrible bigotry & state sanctioned subjugation?
