  1. My premium was ending on my second account and for whatever reason, I rolled five times for old times sake. On the fifth roll, I landed my dream stilt parcel. I am not sure who tossed this one back, but THANK YOU! I will abandon my other stilt soon. I've been decorating for days πŸ™‚

  6. We can be so very lucky to have spent some time with such wonderful people and for our admiration to have been enthusiastically conveyed and received ever so gracefully. Rest in peace Robin.πŸ˜ͺ😌 ❀️ Such a wholesome legacy, so greatly appreciated. THE clothing templates new creators cherished, (mine are dated 2010), were the only ones to have and still used to this day. Created by Robin. Pic from around 2010 if not earlier. I titled the picture Living Legends, (and me lol), waaaay back then. The other is Marianne McCann 😊 centre (-> of course <-).

  7. I am very pleased with my Muniick curtains, they are low land impact, and I haven't had any LOD issues. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Port Lux/150/57/3402 They are now on sale for 25 L only today, 20th April. One of the things I like, is that the rings and fabric are one part. So it is very easy to edit parts and open the double curtains. The curtains is not scripted to open. But they are modify, and the neutral colors can be tinted any color you wish. Edit: I am buying this set, because it is new textures from the curtains I already have.

  8. as financial guy he shouldn't have come at all, it's his job to execute it, not explain it to customers because he never ever would be allowed to tell what the real reasons are. It's the common Linden way, nothing changed. Drop the bomb, pretend to listen and do what was planned.

  14. "Only in SL do people ask why their shoes are stuck on their butt". There are a lot of fun things that happen in SL - like falling out of your skybox in a sailing boat. But there are also some practices which are a bit less charming, but that are part of everyday (second) life to us. Today I came across two things that made me think 'that would never fly in real life'. The first was just a thought I had whilst trying on some clothes. I saw the 'fatpack exclusives' section of the demo HUD and thought .. In real life, when you buy clothes, you almost always only get them in one colour (except things like socks or T-shirts). What would people do if a store said 'here, look at these new trousers we added to our collection - you can have them in any colour you want! But if you want them in burgundy or black, you need to buy them in 42 different colours, of course with a small discount for buying in bulk!'. That company would immediately turn into a social media dumpster fire. The second thing was prompted by me seeing something I am absolutely going to have to get both Neph and Mina - anti-spankers. You know how people pop into clubs (or just, stores, events, or anywhere there's people) and click up on spankers for attention and how absolutely gross those pitiful excuses for human beings are? Anti-spankers gives them something to click on when they feel up your virtual posterior; a very public alert that they tried to have at you uninvited. If you did anything like that in real life, meandering about in a club pinching or smacking people's rears to try getting their attention, you'd be out on your ears and quite probably find yourself in a very heated situation, all cuffed up by uniformed people .. Though not in the happy-fun-times sort of way. What other common SL conventions wouldn't fly in real life?

  15. Just remember the Windex Rule. They don't have warning labels on glass cleaner that say "DO NOT SPRAY IN EYES!" because they think you're stupid enough to do that. They have them because somewhere, sometime, someone was.

  16. "No refunds except in the case of duplicate purchase". No RL company would ever get away with a sales policy like that. They'd be shut down quicker than you can say "lawsuit". Clubs with no entry fee and no bar with which to make profit by marking-up the price of drinks. And relying solely on "donations" from customers to survive. A RL club on that business model wouldn't last two nights. A t-shirt that costs the same as two week's rent on your house. And you worry that the rent is too high but you don't worry about the price of the t-shirt...

  17. It may be a silly thing, but I really like checkered/chequered pattern on... well, literally everything, not only clothes - especially if it's black and white. For the same reason I liked a SL17B art installation a lot and I still like Babel/Chouchou musical thingy. It may have something to do with Commodore/Amiga logos I've grown up with. ~ So today I've decided to be a walking chessboard, because for me it looks nice. :3

  18. Heads up: these 3 lovely regions at the top of Logland have been named, tho they're still showing as SSPExxxx on the map, and the parcels are all still protected. I don't see names on any of the other SSPE regions down the east coast, just those 3. Remember that SSP1106 is the lighthouse region, no homes. I've been intending for a while to quietly fish for a stilt or log home on one of these two wonderful regions, which is why I noticed when they got names today. But due to RL I find I don't have the energy to abandon a property (even less enthusiasm to make a new premium) & stalk a new home. So, happy hunting folks, should LL throw either into the queues!

  29. Well, after not getting any response on my ticket, opened Sat morning, about getting the wrong amount refunded from cancelling a Buy L$ order, I finally called Billing today. Though the person did say it was a known issue, they did not confirm whether or not it was fallout of the changes made to the various back-end systems for this upcoming fee change. However, I can't think of any other system change that would suddenly have the system only refund $1.00 of the $1.49 Buy Fee when you cancel the Buy order. The person also did not say that the issue was fixed yet. So, if you don't normally scrutinize all parts of your Buy/Sell transactions, I'd definitely advise doing so in the future.

  30. Imagine going '(( Woah, that pose was not quite what I expected from the menu! ))' in RL .. A friend has the Love Moma (?) body that has a little person inside of it. It grows and is moved as things progress, and the tummy grows around it - until it didn't, and I saw an arm peeking out from her trousers .. It felt like that scene in Alien. .. (though I think that gif is from Space Balls).

  33. Welcome to the thread, @katherinehotshot! I love your style. It is so original But you risk to get some of your outdoor decor returned to you. Especially the pier and the pool. Some of the greenery look like it is outside your parcel too. Extending decor out of the parcel is not allowed.

  34. This is very sad news. I'm sorry for your loss. Robin made a wonderful contribution to SL and had many creative ideas implemented skillfully. I often went to her store to get both basic and fancy tea sets and such and played her gatchas, always hoping to get the Owl cookie jar. She always had displays at events different than other people, I remember at Christmas particularly. May her memory be a blessing.

  36. This and a million other "bug fix" issues will do nothing for growth or retention, ever. As a core part of the platform is expected that group chat will work. No one decides not to give SL a try because the group chat may or may not work. Same for map tiles or region crossing. These things should not be broken and should not even be brought up in relation to fee increases. Yes it does. It needs to be the new standard avatar. Otherwise anyone using it still a second class user and there is no point. We need a standard, well documented, extensible, publicly accessible (no secret dev kits), open source body platform owned by LL that supports the needs and use-cases of actual SL residents. No one should be making or using after market bodies and heads, they should be making mods for the standard body. The existing avatar & fashion ecosystem is a disaster and directly responsible for large social activities being fundamentally impossible, it's unforgivable for a social platform to have de-rendering other avatars be the norm!!

  38. I've always found smiling avatars creepy and have had that in my profile for ages. If I were to see a person standing around in RL randomly smiling, I'd cross the street to get away. Now, for a picture with friends or something, it might look ok. People have been using that smile app which again, looks creepy.
