  4. Beautiful trad in Gentle Grove, water on both sides, on a little rise. Abandoning at 5:00 SLT. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gentle Grove/138/212/33 Little-known fact: if you hitch a ride on the nearby mole inner tube, and drift down to the dock at the southern end of this lovely little lake in the Pickle (after you pass the little lattice garden and largish picnic dock), you'll see a path leading over a small hill to the wonderful coastline in Goodbury/Well Springs. If you instead turn east and stroll on over to the picnic table, you'll see a little rock path leading to t

  5. I agree, because with stilts they will be too tall for datacentres, but not too tall for cloud servers.

Just two links as a possible explanation and/or big sorry and apologize if I spoil the anticipation https://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Rolling Restarts and now the more important thingie https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/464361-deploy-plan-for-the-week-of-2020-11-16/?tab=comments#comment-2216215 in particular I guess the stilts will have to wait until after the uplift. crosses your fingers that all goes well ;)

  7. With the Vics we were alerted to the imminent release first by the appearance of the visible bridge between “north and south” Bellisseria - I recall it being announced in the When Did You Last See thread by a few of us at the same time. During the Log home release, many of us were too distracted by tornadoes, tumbleweeds and the volcano in Millbank to notice whether Patch’s announcement or a visible bridge to the new regions appeared first. (Personally, I was too busy dodging flying cows 🐄 and watching Ancient Mole dance at the top of the volcano.) But, in any case, the notice is a matter of

  8. I keep looking at the map of the stilt area and thinking it might be too crowded for me (and my non driving skills) to navigate without ending up in someone's living room. Maybe I should invest in a minisub so I only hit the deck supports and save myself the embarrassment of jet skiing through your kitchen. Maybe a rowboat would be slow enough.

  13. In addition to what Abnor said, I'd also point out that when LDPW's QA process ends with all the regions having been passed as ready for release (which is what the colour changes with the region boundary markers indicate) several quite complex things still remain to be done, many of them by people in other departments at LL, in sequence, before the release can happen.

  15. Belinda is in the UK, so the 'annual test' is the car's MOT. Which - under current UK COVID-19 regulations - is still compulsory. It was only non-compulsory (existing MOTs were extended by 6 months) under the first lockdown. The only exceptions right now are if: you have (or someone you live with has) coronavirus symptoms you have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace because you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus

  18. So the 50 land impact decorating challenge was fun --- apparently also for the folks WATCHING and not DOING according to the stats here and on my blog. BUT not everyone has a garage full of home and garden items. This challenge most folks can take part in --- guys included of course (and those who know no gender can play also) :D. Oh so long ago there was a year long blogger challenge -- back in the time when there were way more blogs than Flickr and Youtube feeds. It was to make an outfit based on the color for that week. I spent a long time searching both my blog (w

  20. I've made my decision to go for a male Slink body despite the lack of designer support. It's the only body that suits me best. So I'll base my shopping choices on the remaining creators still supporting Slink.

  21. I've had this happen to me also. I normally tell them that if they had been paying attention, they would have seen there was no voice dot over my head and that it is rude to assume everyone has it enabled while out shopping and that it's actually more rude to get it my IM to rant about it. THEN I block them.

  24. I saw an online post recently in which a woman expressed her horror and disgust that when she went to the garden centre, lots of other people were there too. To be fair, this was everywhere back in March. "I know it's essential shopping only, but I really did need chocolate." "Of course I'm isolating, it's only my daughter and the grandkids who drop in every other day." "I don't get it, when I go to the supermarket, other people are there as well! How can this be??" I think I said at the time that for the first time ever, I actually felt sorry for Boris. It must be like trying to ru

  25. Touring HMHS St. Margaret of Scotland, a converted hospital ship provided and provisioned in 1916 by the Scottish branch of the British Red Cross Society. It was staffed entirely by Scotsmen and women. The society raised £22,000 to purchase and equip the ship through local "Flag Day" fairs and events. You can visit this ship at Scapa Flow 1914-1918. With me is Mitch Carron, the creator of the sim. Here again is the SLURL for those interested. Mitch continues to work on sim: apparently he wants the interior of The Iron Duke entirely complete (at least, I imagine, above the waterline).

  30. Boo, @Orwar, can't your pretty alt wear a bit of color? Are you waiting for blood red perhaps? 😋 I am going mad, staring at the colors. Too red? Too light? I have only touched exposure and sharpened it a bit. Maybe I did it too light, the color is a tiny bit more saturated inworld. I am not a purple person. Saved by a fatpack and some items that could be tinted. I was really surprised to find matching makeup, maybe it was in one of the weekend purchases I make.

  31. A lot we know make and justify their own rules. Meeting for coffee. Having friends round. Going to shopping malls as normal. One couple in their 80s go to the city by train every week for groceries, when the local store is a ten minute walk away. One couple go to the pub, then go for an eat in chinese meal....until this lockdown. Some are still flying, and justifying this by saying where they are going is safer than the UK. We do groceries once a week at 7am. We get online deliveries for heavier stuff. Our only exposure is our family childcare bubble, which comprises three, incl

  34. Despite becoming a GOH addict over the last year or so, I stayed in my original Meadowbrook quite happily for 8 (?) years, and nothin's gonna get me to move from my Innside trad barring bankruptcy! Had my eye on two parcels in 11 cloned Log regions, *finally* got one and am staying put there as well (though it'll be in the queue to go before the trad should the bailiffs knock at the door). The camper was only intended as a temporary home after abandoning a Vic, but I like it so much that it'll stay in the collection until that alt's premium runs out in February. Have high hopes for the Stilt e
