  1. Howdy everyone! I am potentially as confused as everyone else. But then again I've been out of town this week and I have some catching up to do. In any case while standing in the house of mouse, this did make it to my attention to look in to. While I'm digging in to find out what happened there are a few things I can assure everyone of: We've made no policy changes surrounding automated vehicles on the Mainland. We like the Yavapods system We use it in Bellisseria as the "engine" for the ferry boats, with Yavanna's permission of course We keep having it back t

  2. This is where part of my confusion is. The LDPW and the Moles do not have a real ticket system. We sometimes receive JIRA's for issues, but that's not really a ticket and the Moles are not reachable directly through the support ticketing system. While I'm not here to dispute any of this, there also seems to be some real confusion on what or how this happened. If this took place in July, this is the first I'm becoming aware of it. There is no "fight city hall" here, again, we have no reason to do anything other than help with the system and the situation.

  4. Why does that matter? You're supposed to be commenting on the pictures, not on the people behind the avatars. And for those guys who won't post here for fear of being accused of objectifying women - how about... not objectifying women? How about finding something in the image to comment about that is not even remotely sexual? Comment on her outfit. Look beyond anything sexual in it. What else is in the image, besides the bikini/lingerie/boobs/butt? Comment about the image composition Comment about the atmosphere or mood that the image evokes. Ignore any moods that begin

  5. So yesterday I was standing around on the new skypad I had just rented when I got an out of the blue IM from someone I have never met. We conversed for a little bit and at the end of it, he asked me to a "prom" which will be starting soon. Here's the pic of me looking all prettiful and waiting to see it he shows up. I'm not holding my breath. Edit - Good thing I didn't hold my breath. Another case of all dressed up with no place to go....

  7. I am a moderator for the Pod Rider group in-world. I am not here to advocate for what is right or what is wrong. So, if you do reply to this, then I hope it is in the same positive mindset of which I am sharing here. I have been a lover of the Pods for a long time. I have used them to explore Mainland. I have seen things that I would not know existed without riding a pod. I have met other residents on Mainland because of a common interest of Mainland through the use of the pods. As a long time resident of SL from 2006 I have been apart of different communities, but the pod rid

  10. "Compassionate listening involves the total engagement of the heart." From "Quaker Faith & Practice" by Britain Yearly Meeting I'm a Quaker and this has been one of my favorite quoted passages since I was a young girl. My Dad used the passage to comfort me since I was going deaf and terrified to forget the sound of his voice. It was scary, but he used this passage to explain that as a deaf person I learned how to do things differently. Instead of just listening with my ears, I listened with my eyes and heart. That it was a deeper and more fulfilling way of listening because that type

  12. I think the pods are a wonderful way to experience and learn about mainlands. I think Yavanna deserves an official LL award for all of her creative and diligent work. SL is a huge and complicated world - and for both newbies and oldies who like to explore, the pods are perfect. I love them all - trains and boats and egg cars. I have totally bought parcels for projects because they are on the pod routes and always love to see them go by. I hope that LL is able to help keep them going and help people find out about them. This world is so spread out... anything that helps connectivity and expos

  15. Good morning Bellisseria. Walking around the Victorian islands, I've discovered this protected area in Bridesmere, the residents living there are really really lucky http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bridesmere/55/48/29

  16. Just to chime in, until this thread I had no idea that the pods were not owned and operated by the Lab themselves. I liked them so much that when I went premium, I specifically chose a parcel that has road frontage on one of the Pod routes. Seeing one of the pods go by even if empty is nice in an otherwise static view and is to my mind a forerunner of a R/L future public transportation system. They are great for taking a leisurely tour through areas I would not otherwise ever get to and a reminder that there is more to this world than clubs and fashion stores. Hoping that the exposure in

  17. I was a bit confused about that too but I know both Yavanna's tickets were filed through the regular support system with proper case numbers and everything. I can give them to you if you want me to but it's better if you contact Yavanna yourself. I had a long chat with Yavanna before I posted here and she gave me all the details and even tickets she filed. Since timeandspaceanddreams already has given the essentials, I might as well fill in with the few details that are missing. As timeandspaceanddreams said, one of the pods got stuck on some land owned by LDPW and that caused Yavann

  19. Be nice to Boxy! Ok seriously, yes we're testing a routing AI system and features. It does learn though, so if there is an interaction that should run smoother, quicker, differently, we can make it better and change it to cooperate before it goes all T-1000 on us.

  20. This is such sad news. The pods always made SL feel alive. So sad to see the pods suffer the same fate as the drunken cars. I know we will still be able to grab a pod from a pod station, but that is not the same as seeing an empty cruising up the road and hopping on.

  21. I presume the issue is server related. While I cannot operate land(I don't have monies for much land, unless it is on already crowded zindra land), if she needs a web server, I would be more than willing to help out and offer the assistance of my server(it has no intents on going anywhere for decades, too many things plugged into it), free of charge. In my opinion, the pods are a historical significance in Second Life's history.

  25. I've tried the chat window powered by AI on Amazon, Federal Express, Target, etc --many times- NEVER NEVER got what I needed. Some then serve up overseas call centers who spout canned phrases and lots of "sorry sorry." That part is true. It is truly sorry. Either the customer matters or they don't. Sad SL is pulling the plug on premium level live chat. That will be a BIG factor when my alt decides whether or not to pony up the cash on renewal. And I echo the dislike of the new secretive approach to things, is Rod coming back?

  28. I hope Yavanna recovers, so sad to see the pods disappear from mainland it was only recently i did the ferry/train tour from Cecropia to around the port area of Bay City. If i ever saw pod pass me by i'd always try and hop on a good way of exploring the mainland

  29. Yes, Yavanna is an absolute gem among SL residents, and I hope her RL recovery comes quickly now. This loss of Pods is pretty sad for the Mainland, and for scripters. Yavanna refined the Pod network to run like the proverbial well-oiled machine, and they'd become a regular, valued feature of the SL Birthday celebrations, too. According to a notecard I received in-world, this coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Pod service. There is more information about how this decision was reached, and the faintest glimmer of hope that they may return some day when recovery progresses and i

  31. The pods are still working! They're just not leaving their stations unless you go there and start one. There's a station in Calleta and one in Kama City. When you start one, it says "The route has been suspended", and the pod will de-rez when the last rider gets off.
