Why have my Lindens disappeared?

My friend has had L$100 disappear from his account! Nothing on the transaction history and no names! Any answers? More importantly; can they get it back?

Your Lindens haven't. Your friend's Lindens have. Make sure he's checked his transaction history not just for one $100L transaction, but also for small $L transactions. He may have joined a group that divides fees between all members - that's the main thing I can think of, and the usual culprit.
