How do I exchange lindens back into my real bank account?

You go to the LindeX Exchange. Put up however much you want to sell, and wait for someone to buy it. $L on the LindeX Exchange are bought and sold by other residents, NOT by Linden Labs.

You have to have established a selling limit by having bought $L from LL at least once BEFORE you can sell $L on the LindeX Exchange.

You need to SELL your lindens as mentioned before. They will then be shown in your account as US dollars (at least for those of us in the US, not sure about other countries). From there you send them to Paypal ($1.00 US) or have a check sent to you (more money but I don't remember, maybe $10). Eventually they get to your bank. It takes maybe a week and a half for the whole transaction.
