how do i look at the last person to speak

Hello christine and welcome to SL Forums. If you mean that you spoke with someone and accidentally you closed the im window, in viewer 3 show the list with your friends and go on the last tab "Recent". There you will find him/her except of you relogged. If so, the only way to find the resident is to navigate into C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife \ chirstine_gallacher  folder. You will find a .txt files with the residents you have spoken.

Hehehe .... I'll be five next month, and the only reason I know about it is that I was looking for another keyboard shortcut last week and remembered seeing it in passing. So I'm not far ahead of you on the learning curve.
