Where's my hair and the hunt continues...

I am new.  My avatar has an idiotic hairstyle that cannot be edited.  So I've been hunting for free hair.  Good looking mail hair.  All I find are demos and when I put them on they don't apear.  I removed my old hair and they still don't show up, I am just a buzz but head with DEMO flashing accross the back.  Can't even see the hair.  Crappy demo.  Also, any ideas where I can find free hair without demo?  I've been looking on the internet on fashion blogs and searching the shops but... I'm always too late and only getting angry.  Not that I'll be able to wear it if I find it.

um, sounds like you  may be trying on demo skins instead of demo hair, unless you are in a very very laggy sim and the hair is taking a very long time  to rez. try going to an empty sim and try it on again, you may have better luck.

i have no idea who has good free male hair tho. there should be some male hair in your LL library for the standard avatars. the female hair in the LL library is pretty nice, for being free, but I've never even looked at the male hair.

and if this is just a bot post then I apoligize to the rest of the forum... lol.

I agree, it does sound like you're trying on a demo SKIN, not hair. I've never seen hair that had demo stamped across it, but ever demo skin I've ever seen has "demo" stamped on it in multiple places. (It's possible that you're trying on a demo of a tattoo layer hair, but that would be a little strange...) Most demo hair has either a) a box floating above the hair with either the word "demo" or the shop logo on it, or both, or b) a strand/chunk of hair textured with an obvious "demo" texture, usually with demo stamped on it. Many times demo hairs have both of these things.

Make sure you're trying on hair. You can do this pretty easily, actually. Go to the marketplace and search for "Avatar Accessories > Hair > Men's hair," narrowed down by price "$0-10L" and sorted by "Price - Low to high." The first four pages I saw were all demos; buy one at random, and when you recieve it inworld, open the box it most likely comes in and try it on. If you can see it, then what you've been trying is probably a demo skin (which would not include hair). If you can't, you have another problem.

After that, I'm not really sure where to find good free male hair.

Sounds like you are trying on some hairbase tattoo demo. Some short hairdos come with hairbase tattoo layers to match with the prim hair.  In your inventory prim hair appears as a cube. Make sure you are wearing them.
