Answers: uncorrect "Solved by"?

In the Answers subforum, see the section "Resolved Questions in Answers". See this example:

The thread "Destination window is always..." really IS NOT solved by Marigold (sorry Marigold, I love you :) ). The answer is solved by Valerie. But thar section show the thread as solved by Marigold: Marigold insthe last poster of the thread.

And that is only an example, the issue appears in many rsolved answers.

It is not a serious problem, but as we say in Spain "las cosas bien hechas, bien hechas están" (something similar to "things well done, well done are", but I'm not sure about my English LOL).

This is something I have noticed since the very beginning of this Answers section. The question always appears solved by the last poster. No big deal indeed but it can be confusing for those looking at the board. :smileywink:

Hello Irene. Good point. The "solved by" list shows always the resident's name who posted last of all . Someone else posted the same in past but i can't find the thread. Minor issue but it would be good to be corrected.

And you are right to point this out. Yet again, this software is appalling. It gives out the wrong information.

And the saying we have in the UK for this is "spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar". :matte-motes-silly:

Sometimes (often) I think LL puts things in place to make us work against each other, and to feel bitterness to our companions inworld and on the forums. Luckily, we are all grown-ups and we all try to help each other, so our ego does not feel squashed by the crummy forum software.

This was raised at a CTUG meeting last Spring.  There was an action taken to fix it.  Whoopsie.

 

ETA:  They never got around to renaming the Answers Forum to Q&A Forum either.

But let me think an evil thought. If the system reads the last poster as one of the solvers, the system give "points" for rank to the last poster? :matte-motes-evil-invert:

Hi again Irene and all! For the past 2 or 3 days, it seems that this has been fixed: the answer appears as "solved" by the one who really solved it, not by the last who posted. I am the only one who noticed or am I daydreaming?
