driver trouble

I am fairly new to SL so please understand. I have a Toshiba Satallite A355-56935. It has an ATI Mobility  Radeon HD 3650 driver.  The first time i used it in SL it worked great. However now for some reason when i log in it begins to load...poof crash. A message comes up that the atikmdag driver has quit working and has restarted. 

Side note: I have checked to see if everything is updated and it is the most current driver. This happens on both the viewer that is provided when you first come to SL and also Firestorm.

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated. Please when responding. I am very computer stupid so be nice.

If you google this error you will see there are loads of people with it and just about as many different fixes, I think I would start by unistalling your ATI graphics software using add and remove programs, that seems to have worked for a number of people.
