If you're still looking I'd try Nylon Outfitters  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Tableau/182/106/23 or mp  https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/651. Might try to copy that link because it's not working when I click on it. Her name is Nylon Pinkney. I know she has skin in world but not sure of her mp other than clothes for sure. Or the Wigglesworth. Which is next door but it's elderly skins. So maybe too old but I'm telling you both shops are SO cutes! Or maybe even try Fashionably Dead.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I went to Nylon Outfitters but only find young cute skins, maybe I was looking in the wrong spot.

Wigglesworth was fun, but too old and also a bit over the top.

But you are right, that whole shopping area is awesome, lots of fun stuff.

Fashionably Dead is a great little shop as well, loved their stuff but the skins were a bit too young and pretty.

I fear that the only way I'll find what I'm looking for is by just scanning my own face.

A lot of them are nice but do not give a great selection, or they do not give dark eyebrows, or the arms are flat and have no definition, or if it does then you are paying clearly over 2000L for a skin which is rediculous. I spent a lot of money on a skin and then realised when my av lifts her arms for some reason my upper sides are dark just above where the pits belong, which to me is ugly. I am looking for a great definition skin that looks about 30 but am finding no luck, hmm maybe I am just picky. I want olive tone with pores, and dark eye brows with definition, just not finding it yet.

Try Glam Affair. They have very good hilights and midtones, detail is there too.

Skins are like art or music, people like different styles than each other but a real skin designer who can create skins from the beginning without a template, are rare because they need to be an artist as well as proficient with photoshop, gimp or other software.

Sorry to tell you all this and burst a bubble bost most of the skin creators listed in this thread are template users, who modify a template made by a person with more skill, which basically anyone can do with a little photoshop/gimp experience....

There are three types of skins made:

1)  Painted

2)  Photos

3) A mixture of the above.

All are available in template form by somone or other.

Lastly you have to remeber the Second Life (mesh) that decides the basic avatar shape is low poly and badly made so while that is used and the graphic limitation of Second Life you are not going to get ultra realistic looking avatars, the lighting system sucks terribly too.

Skins are such a personal choice, many like the more realistic look and others prefer something a little different. I have skins from many different places, but I prefer mine to look a little more real. I am not a huge fan of Al Vulob, but it does seem like i am in a very small minority at the moment!

Ricielli do some nice skins and they are very well priced too, I have a few of theirs.

Dont forget to do a marketplace search too, there are some great skin designers on there with some very good deals if you look :)

My favorites are Ploom, Plastik, and RedMint. Not overly detailed and not completely photorealistic, which I can't stand. I like skins that don't show every pore and random birthmark. And skins that don't look like they're porn stars covered in oil in front of a spotlight :smileytongue:
