Deploys for the week of 2012-01-23

Recommended Posts

This regions crossing improvement seems to have possibly brought an old issue back.  There are rather a lot of people over the last couple of days starting new threads on the Answers section. They're getting the old message "system is logging you out... account will not be available until... "

A new JIRA has been started. People are referring them to this. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-28209

And - so far - it seems the old workaround methods of getting avatars back in through the back door are not working.

Hi a question on this SVC-7608 "Sims are not visible when diagonally opposed" from somone who knows not a great deal about technical issues.

 3 sims in a group in an L shape, 2 on magnum Rc servers and one on a sl server version. One sim is removed (the middle one), leaving 2 in the group, but diagonally opposed no longer can see one another. (left is one on magnum and one sl server version) . Is this a natural occurance, or should diagonally opposed sims still be visible as before.

Thanks in advance for any info

Chrissy :))

Diagonnaly adjecent regions can only see each other if there is a directly adjacent simulator. That is by design. This is regardless of server version. It has to do with how simulators talk to each other.

We had llSetRegionPos() working on
RC Le Tigre
during the last week but not anymore.

It looks like it is rolled back:smileysad:

This code is still in RC. It is just not on LeTigre this week. This code is only in the Magnum RC channels. Once it gets promoted it will work in all regions again.

@Cerise and Oskar

There can be little doubt that the introduction of the threaded region crossing code has caused most of the issues being reported in https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-28209 .

At last it is on the GSP, but it has taken two days of frantic ticketing to get it there.  This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, at least at the next roll, and for many even that it too late.

When will Linden Lab stop shooting itself in the foot and attend to its appalling QA record?

Great, now I'm stuck too. And I have no idea where I was since I was just flying about aimlessly....I know it's somewhere near Kuula though.

That whole region seemed stuck.

 seems to have started in anger at the same time the threaded crossing code went to RC. Some resident closed it out as "contact support" .... but this is a resurgence of the old "system is loggin you out, come back in 5 minutes" forever loop and really really looks like a new bug.

It is a new bug. If you contact support they will fix your avatar state for you until we get the server patched. That is why it was marked in that state.

It was not marked in that state at the time I needed to get friends unstuck. Cerise helped with that and left a heads up here. It is a shame that LL continues to allow people with such obvious contempt for their customers, to interact with those customers.
