SL bug?

Hi

yesterday I was online with singularity viewer and talking with my partner when he asked me why i suddenly put myself offline...

He was really upset :(

I checked and the marking to make me appear online was gone..BUT from one moment to the next and I did not change it.

this happened once before while using Phoenix and now I am scared it happens again and ruin my relationship:matte-motes-crying:

Occasionally this will happen but it is not a normal occurrence.  A simple explanation should suffice.  This alone should not be enough to 'ruin' a relationship.

I've now and again -- though not recently, that anyone's mentioned -- had friends IM me and express surprise I'm on-line because I'm not showing as so being.   But we've always put that down to SL playing tricks on us.

It's an old problem that's been around for ages -- see SVC-85 -- and I'm not sure if it's actually a problem with SL or the particular viewer.

I stood right in front of a friend of mine once, and neither of us showed up as being online to the other even though we had everything set so that he should have been able to see that I was online, and I should have been able to see that he was. I've also had friends appear as online, but when I IM'd them, they actually weren't. It happens. It's a pretty minor glitch and nothing to worry much about. It certainly shouldn't "ruin" your relationship! Just explain to your partner that it seems to be a glitch - you can even link him to this thread if you want.

Any "friend" who can't take an SL glitch in stride is one you didn't need anyway.
