Can't get SL to run

Thought I would throw this out to the comunity for some help. I've been a SL resident since 2006 but had always ran it on a Mac. I recently went about building a PC from scratch to specifically run SL. When I go to run SL it starts up but my avatar doesn't load, most of the textures don't load, and around 3-5 minutes of running it, it freezes. Here are the specs for the computer. Could anyone tell me where I went wrong or what I need to do to get payday loan lenders SL running on this machine? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sound like a connection problem -- Here is infor I  have collected on that:

If you run your Mac on the same router and have no problems with SL, that roules out connetion problems,   Are you sure your drivers are ok .  Are you sure your machine ok with all ports.  -- SL uss ports not used by browsers.

Second Life hs been having problems with ATI video cards since the OpenGL calls in the viewer were re-written. Make sure you're running the latest drivers (not just the ones that came on your installation disk). Second Life works differently than most graphical games so optimizations for other games may actually hurt performance with SL. They're still working on the graphics on the viewer so the beta version may work better for you.

If the viewer lets you, go into "Preferences" - "Graphics" - "Hardware" and try turning off "Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects."

 If you copy and paste the information from "Help - About Second Life" into a reply here someone may be able to figure out other problems (you can access the "Help" menu without being logged in.)
