having trouble opening second life (mac)

Hi Kitty. First I would suggest you check your Internet connection. Unplug your router, plug it back after a few minutes and restart your Mac. Connect to the web before launching SL to refresh your IP. Contact also your ISP to see if your line is OK.

If it does not help, you may try a clean reinstall of V3 (delete all the other viewers you may have). The instructions below are from Phoenix but they work also for the official viewer.

Make sure you also clear any viewer's cache on both in the viewer's preferences and on your hard drive:
