Problem with second life grid cant connect?

Hello BrettBurnett and welcome to SL Forums. We had earlier today issues in world with Inventory Database Maintenance but they have been resolved now. Please see: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Try to log in a difference region like Smith, Exeuxoa or Anzere and see if that makes any difference. If you use the official viewer and you can't choose a difference region, in your log in screen give the command: Menu Me --> Preferences --> General Tab --> Enable "Show on login" --> OK.  After click the down arrow where it says "Start at" and choose <Type region name> --> Smith --> Login.

I see that you are a brand new resident, and I would guess you haven't been able to log in at all to Second Life yet.  Please post your system specifications (to do this, please edit your original post by clicking "options" at the top right hand side of it).  We'll be able to further advise you on what may be preventing you from logging in.

See some suggestions in the offcial Knowledge Base about that message of "waiting region handshake": http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109#Section_.1.1 Probably you must reconfigure your firewall.
