Hello CatAngellsMe and welcome to SL Forums. Several other users reported the same problem (black screen) with the last version of Viewer 3. However i don't know if someone created a jira. Try to download the previous version (3.2.1) or beta ((3.2.5) and see if that makes any difference. If it works, don't forget to set your software updates no to be installed automatically (preferences --> setup).
