how do i set my self at busy or away

In the latest viewer: "Me" menu: Status > Away or Busy.

"Busy" or "Away" mode can be handy, but I almost never use it.  It declines all IMs, but it also declines any teleport requests and inventory offers.  As a result, if someone gives you something while you are "busy" or if Marketplace delivers something that you ordered, it will be automaically refused.

On Firestorm? Here you go... 

I'd also recommend going to your Preferences > Privacy > and then the Autoresponse 1 / 2 tabs, where you can set custom messages for numerous states.

Please consider the note that I posted above ^^, back in 2012.  There are big disadvantages to using "Busy" mode.  It's much safer to come in world as an alt or simply ignore interruptions if you want some personal time.
