You should have a look at the viewer's log file if there is some error causing the viewer to shutdown. It's in C:\Users\<Your Windows username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\logs. The AppData folder is usually hidden, so you might need to change the display settings of the Windows Explorer to see it.
