people offered to give me lindens today.

Two different people im'd me today claiming to work for Linden labs and said they could give me lindens as many as I needed. I did copy and paste the im's in a note card. Is this legit. I have never heard of it happening before.

If they are from Linden Labs and contacting you in world, it will not be to sell you or give lindens and their last name will always be Linden.  Sounds like someone is trying to scam you and i would submit an Abuse Report with your notecard to give them a heads up.

The Lindens all have names that end in Linden. If these people were working for Linden labs, they would have names ending in Linden. (And not just display names.) If they did not, they were not in official capacity. That doesn't mean they didn't work for LL, but they weren't official Lindens. I would be quite suspicious. What did they ask for in return?

Keep that notecard. I would guess these people are running a scam. It is against the rules to impersonate a Linden, if I recall correctly. If you get any proof that they are running a scam you can report them.

You are right Sassy, this DOES NOT happen, ever. (unless there was a LL lottery I'm not aware of, lol). Just ignore these IMs. Scammers for sure.
