There are many reasons why that might happen.  Usually they boil down to an intermittent connection problem.  SL is unlike most applications you have used before.  It depends on having a continuous data stream between your viewer and LL's servers, because both are being continuously updated.  That requires a large bandwidth and few interruptions.  A break of even a second is often enough to drop you out of SL.  Th prime suspects are usually

(1) Wireless.  SL residents commonly have difficulty with wireless connections, which are inherently less stable than direct cable connections and more susceptible to interference from cell phones, garage door openers, and almost anything else that emits RF interference. If you have a choice at all, get off wireless.

(2) Your router.  Especially if a router has been plugged in for a while, it begins to accumulate garbage in its RAM and becomes less efficient.  Reboot by unplugging for a few minutes.  (You may actually want to plug your computer's cable diretly into the modem as a test, to see whether bypassing the router clear up your problem.  If so, and if a simple reoot isn't enough to solve the problem, it may be time to replace the router,

(3)  Packet loss en route to LL's servers.  You can check for his by looking at your Statistics Bar (CTRL + Shift + 1), or by doing a ping test.  For more about this and other possibilitis, see >>> http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/

Not sure what "incompatible software" is but usually incompatible software won't run at all.  There are a whole slew of posibilities for why a program might crash (that randomly closing is a crash).  One of the things that is often the cause is hardware overheating.......for SL that hardware that tends to overheat in the graphics card since it's one of the hardest working devices when running SL.  A couple things to look at or do would be to clean out the inside of your computer case (dust build up causes devices to heat more than usual).  On a desktop it's pretty easy to clean your case.  Just take off the side of the computer case and get a can of compressed air and thoroughly blow the dust off all components making sure to blow through the fans (inclucing your power supply and video card)  It does not harm the fans to spin backward......and while you're at it make sure the fans spin freely.  Discharge your body by touching any metal part of the case before reaching inside...and, of course, disconnect the power plug.  A laptop is difficult to clean unless you are very familar with disassembly of laptops......it's generally best to take it to a reputable repair facility.  Blowing through the ventalation openings will help but mostly you are just dislodging the dust and blowing it around inside (and the dust just settles someplace else in the case).

Google "hardware monitoring software".  There are plenty of free programs that are very good at monitoring device temperatures and fan speeds (as long as your motherboard has that capability.....which most MB's do today).  Temperatures reaching 90 C should be watched carefully......and, in my opiinion, 95 C is time to shut down what ever program is causing such a high temperature on the device (your video card will get the hottest the fastest but should stabilize well below the typical upper heat limit of 105 C).

More information about your computer will help anyone else with suggestions if my guess is incorrect. "high end system" is not enough.  Specifics, like what video card, CPU, RAM, operating system, connection speed, and even the viewer you are using (Viewer 2 can be V-2.6, 2.8 or even a TPV based on the V-2.xx code).  Use the Options at the top right hand corner of your initial post and Edit to comment or add to your post.  Starting a new thread to respond only confuses and makes it difficult to maintain any comprehensible discussion.  This software does not allow the poster of a thread to respond......not the best software for something like this forum but it's all we have.
