I hear this at least 3 times a day on group chat

I'm tired of this, so i searched for the finest electric guitars on the grid, found one prim only model and one mixed prim/sculpt model, and finally made a mesh model.

You will find the results here:

Everybody who doesn't believe should look at this

right!

and for those who don't want to travel all the long way to Montisigard I should add, the LI of the all prim model is 250, the mixed sculpt/prim model has an LI of 68, and the mesh only model has a LI of 7!

Thanks for this thread, Mikki.  It's nice to be reminded that the vocal minority of decidedly ignorant complainers in SL are indeed a minority, and that people actually do get it.  I think sometimes we spend so much time responding/reacting to those doomsayer voices, just because they happen to be so loud, that we risk forgettng they are only what they are, and nothing more.

(By the way, if you ever want a nice custom-made guitar in RL, let me know!  I make them.)

Yup, been doing it about 20 years now.  I made my first one when I was 16, in high school woodshop class.

I'll never forget this tall pimple-faced kid, Jim, who upon overhearing me discussing my plan with the teacher, blurted out, "Dude, you can't MAKE a guitar."  Before I could say anything in response, the teacher looked up at him and said, "SOMEBODY makes them." Jim was speechless.  Those three words probably taught that kid more than all the classes in all his years of being left back while the rest of us moved up.  Yes, Mr. Barmore was an awesome teacher.

Anyway, I don't mean to derail the thread.  Happy to talk more about this in a different setting, if you'd like. :)
