Using V3

Rez a cube, transfer perm is checked but grayed out, cannot be unchecked

Check copy, transfer is now active, can be unchecked

Uncheck transfer, uncheck copy, transfer check magically comes back, grayed out, unable to be unchecked.

Question, how do I make an object No Mod, No Copy, No Transfer?

I know it is possible because I just discovered something I gave someone as not having these permissions, even though in my inventory it shows as being transfer (with the grayed out, unclickable transfer box)

Thanks.

Make it mixed permissions item, For example, nomod and nocopy for the prim, and put something notransfer inside it.

I never figured out any reason to limit perms this much so not sure if this is best setup, try different combinations till you get the desired behavior.

Im courious, what you need such item for?

As far as I know it's always been like this, maybe not the menu behaviour, but certainly the permissions having to be either copy or transfer. You can make an item no mod no copy no transfer by making the object itself no mod no copy for example and put another item or script or notecard or whatever and set the permissions to no copy on that object. People won't be able to edit the contents because of the no mod on the object.

I also wonder what object could possibly need those permissions.

Thank you both, Liisa and Kwakkelde.

The reason I asked, is because I wondered how it could be done. I had seen such items before in the MP and when I began building, I used to wonder why it had to be trans if it wasn't anything else.

When I discovered tonight that I had unintentionally created an item with no permissions, I had to find out why so that I wouldn't do it again, unintentionally.

I haven't figured out yet what type of object may need all these permissions deactivated, but when I do, at least I'll know how!

Thanks guys!! :)
