When I buy Lindens on the website am I really supposed to get a popup to enter my password in?

I have a vague memory of a warning about not entering your password unless the textfield was embedded in the page. Anyone know if this has changed?

I have no idea if I'm posting in the right place. Questions about any other matter I usually have forums to turn to but for this I'd like to know what LL says, and I don't have any idea where to do that.

You do have to enter your user name and password to confirm an order for Lindens.  But for me it changes to the standard sign in page for all SL websites. I do have all popups disabled in my web browser though, so if yours are enabled that may be why.  If you are unsure you can always call billing and ask them.  Someone is there 24/7.

Tx for your answers, Tair and Amethyst :o)

It confirms what I thought. I've always had the login page too, and now I get a popup asking for my password. I dont' read the blog much, and the popup was designed to fit with the webpage, so I thought I better check it hadn't changed before I called billing.

It looks like someone is intercepting linden dollar purchases, at least on my computer :(

I called billiing and what do you know, filling in your password in the popup is now the right thing to do. They changed the system so you don't have to enter your name again.

I think it would be a very good idea for LL to inform about this. It can hardly be in their interest that we just use whatever new system that pops up without having been told about it in advance. Surely this makes the system vulnerable to hackers?
