I have the latest version of V3 (3,2,1-244864), and it worked just fine since I installed it.  But now it's been broken for a few days.  When I log in, the progress bar starts growing, but stops...usually during "Loading World" or "Downloading Clothing".  The bar will sit there for a while, then up pops the "Darn, you've been logged out...." notice.

I've cleared the cache multiple times.  I re-installed V3.  Good ol' V1, Phoenix and Firestorm all work just fine.  But V3 fails every time.

This is on a Windows Vista gaming computer with plenty of horsepower.

Thank you!  Somewhat helpful and very interesting.  But I must stress that my other viewers still work just fine.  If I had a connectivity problem, they'd be messed up, too.

By the way, I downloaded and installed the available V3 beta.  It failed to connect the first try.  Connected and ran the second try.  Has failed to connect ever since.

I've tried reducing graphics to minimal to reduce the load on the software and the server demand.  It didn't help.

So Firestorm is my current Viewer now.

It's still puzzling that V3 worked fine for a while.  I'm wondering what changed.

Well, V3 works again.  And I sucsessfully survived the update today, too.  I did three things rather unscientifically, so I can't really tell what exactly fixed the problem.

I restarted my router.

I defraged my hard drive.  That took over 26 hours to complete.  Must have been an awful mess!

But I think this is what actually did it...I tried starting V3.  When the progress bar stopped again, I got ticked off and closed the program.  It crashed, and sent a crash report.  This was something new, since it never crashed and sent a report before, it just wouldn't log on.  The NEXT time I started V3, it worked fine!  Having it crash may have cleared or reset something.  But it's working now.

Yaaay!
