One of the resource-stealing, server-abusing, lag-creating spam-temp-rezzing systems seems to have partly broken (sadly not in a good way).  It now spam shouts base 64 encoded data on each rez (which since it's an abusive spam-rezzer, that's a lot of spam shouted).

Saw the same thing in another sim. Not sure what the cause is, whether it's malicious or something has been broken by an update.

Yes, one of my friends parcels which uses rezzbox started doing this, but the other parcel with same system is fine.  I suspect something malicious myself, as a unwanted intruder was ejected just before this happened.

Nonsense. Clearly you do not like these temp rezzers.  Well, bully for you.  Why not ask LL to ban them, if they steal server resources like you say they do? Hmmm?

They can be adjusted, and have limits in any case, and most of all they work well used carefully. 

 Some think they work fine and enhance some people's SL who cannot afford large parcels or sims of their own......then again, some - like yourself - are convinced they are wicked and on the verge of bringing SL to it's knees.  

When LL agree with you, and ban them - though strangely they have not done so thus far, and temp rezzers have been out for years - then you may post such claims with impunity.  However, the jury is out....and you are not the judge.

Actually, for a fairly large number of regions, I am the judge for those things.  They are banned across a very large number of regions that I'm involved with, and will be estate-returned if found.

These spam-rezzing temp prim systems cause significant strain on the servers.  Rezzing/derezzing prims and loading/unloading scripts are 4 of the most costly operations for the sim.  These systems constantly stress those operations, and are extremely harmful when used on a large scale.  They claim to offer "free" prims, but the reality is that those prims are extremely costly for the server and every AV within draw distance of them.

Thank you for the heads up on the JIIRA, I commented over there.

While people who own these boxes can shut them off or re-do all the items in them to fix them, if they never log in (as in Blumfield which has a lot of First Landers), or don't care to fix it... the rest of us can't shut it up.

I can mut the thing for myself, but my visitors will still get spammed, and Blumfield is where I built a church.

 

Found the thing near Blumfield.

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/West%20Haven/201/212/27 - ina parcel with banlines. Came into the building's bottom floor and the rezzer's right there against the wall.

Problem, according to the Jira, seems to be limited to this one brand of rezzer.
