Prometheus Bound (Theatre Performance in SL)

[Phorkyad Acropolis]

Phorkyad Acropolis re-imagines Greek tragedy for the virtual world with his production of Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus in Second Life.

 Applying the concepts of Antonin Artaud's Theatre of Cruelty and staging it in to the virtual world of SL,

 Phorkyad will also be playing the role of Prometheus. In the other roles are:

Daughter of Oceanus: lilrunt6780 Resident
Oceanus: Avery Oxhall
Io: Odile32 Resident
Hermes: Tuchh Resident

 All of the actors are students of Phorkyad's creator, and have worked with the RL director in college productions. Avery Oxhall has been his research assistant for the last year and a half, on a project entitled, "Building a virtual model of the Theatre of Cruelty."

 Note that this is also a "blended reality" event, and there will be a live audience in RL watching the show projected onto a theater screen.

 The Production Designer, Tash Porthos, does custom designs under the brand name [dirty.little.secret].

 The production's Dramaturge is Antonin Reynaud, who is also working on her own Artaud project for her dissertation at Johannes Gutenberg University in RL.
