Where can you find a discription of estate tools and a baseline to know what is "good" or "bad"?

That's a really broad question, so it's hard to answer without knowing which factors you are interested in.  Perhaps the best thing I can do is to point you to a couple of resource pages and let you wander ....

I know that's kind of a broad brush non-answer, but you will find what you were looking for in all of that stuff, plus a lot of very usefull information that you ought to be aware of anyway..
