No viewer will run - LLCOMMON.DLL

Question

Having been in SL for 10 months, today I find that no viewer will allow me into SL. There seems to be an issue with LLCOMMON.DLL, whatever that is. The details are :-

As I explained in your original post, this problem does not have a solution yet. It is a serious bug in the V2/V3 code. LL developers know about it and are working on a fix. For now, the only way to avoid the problem is to use a V1 codebase viewer like Phoenix.

 

You will not find any Lindens here, BTW. We are all SL residents like you. This is a public user-to-user forum.

Phoenix is a V1 codebase viewer. So is Imprudence. Also LL's own 1.23 viewer.

If you are having problems with more than the win_crash_logger.exe program that was the focus of your first message and the JIRA that I referred you to, perhaps the problem is in the llcommon.dll file on your computer. That's a Microsoft problem, not a SL issue. I can find suggestions on the web like http://dll-files.org/8165/what-is-dll-llcommon.html for dealing with it, but I have no idea how effective they may be, or whether they are even relevant to your problem. You might want to try exploring those yourself.
