Hello Kentteth and welcome to SL Forums. The land must to be set to Group (no necessary to be deeded) but also you must to have the right to deed objects to group. Open the groups profile and check out if you have this ability. You find it under Allowed Abilities --> Object Management --> Deed objects to group.

You deed thigs to the group, not a parcel, so the land it is on doesn't matter. I could be in a Linden Sandbox and deed a prim to any group whose tag I am wearing, IF I have the right role permissions in the group to do so.

Whether or not the deeded object will work as desired on a parcel that is not deeded to the group is debatable. In most cases, if something needs to be deeded to the land group to work, such as a device that can change the parcel media stream, then it needs to use parcel land owner permissions, granted by the group being the actual owner of the land.

Make sure you are wearing the group tag for that group, and that the role you have in the group allows deeding to the group.
