SL is full of people looking for those types of jobs. Generally, club jobs (DJ, Host/Hostess, Dancer, Bartender) pay in tips. Most of the time the tips earned are related to how well you engage patrons. I knew one hostess who did an excellent greeting patrons and saying something unique to each and every one of them.
