Something that few people think of when they get repeated errors messages such as "download failed".  Check your connection to the Internet.  Specifically, check packet loss.......you fail to get something in the download it will fail on you when you try to install it or when you install it, it has problems.  Try this site:

http://www.speedtest.net/

In addition to running the speed test (which is what everyone is concerned with when they think of connections) run the Ping Test.  Your speed should be fairly consistant.........if you have a download speed of 20 mbps last week you should have pretty close to 20 mbps this week (it will vary according to Internet traffic).  The Ping Test is primary there to show you how long it takes for a signal to be sent from your computer to the ping test server and back again (latency).  But that test also gives you your packet loss.  If you see more than 2% packet loss you are probably going to get lost data........and for a setup file to install a program that could be a huge problem for you.  Packet loss in a clean network will always be 1% or less......no matter how slow your connection is.

You might also try rebooting your router and modem..........that clears up lots of silly, maddening problems.  Just as rebooting your computer when you get strange problems (you'll do that too when you reboot your router and modem since you should restart your computer after plugging your router an modem back in).
