Slow Aura
With Arthur's Day just over, and Hallowe'en just around the corner .. not to mention the heroic (so far) adventures of the irish Rugby Team down in New Zealand .. I find myself hankering after a bit of proper Irish banter and chit chat in SL.I've tried searches on various combinations of keywords and have managed to unearth a few locations. Evidently I can't use direct names here, but let's just say that a visit to the Capital City itself was a little less rewarding than I hoped ... seemed to be a beautiful if laggy build, with a full "pub", but nobody who could tell a rubber band from a rubberbandit .. never mind enage in a conversation on something like hurling without snickering and telling me what the name of our national sport sounded like to them. At one juncture I even got warned for my behaviour in insisting on trying to "impose" (sic) irish mentality on them. I will admit, the talk of American Football teams was enlightening, but not what I was seeking. There are some other builds I've spotted, which claim to be Irish, but again appear to be closer to some hollywood variant with pigs in the parlour than the real thing. So, shall I just abandon my hope, or is there any true Irishness in SL? Stella Carver
Virtual Dublin, particularly The Blarney Stone. I've often been the only USian there.Unless that's the pub you were alluding to, in which case that doesn't sound like The Blarney I know and love.
