How do I remove a malicious script that is on my land, when it is locked from editing by the owner?

I bought land on auction and have just discovered that, some one left an object that teleports avatars to their business, but blocks them from leaving, or using their control panels. It locks then in the view of what the avatar sees and does not let them out of that view. It even affects how to other programs out side of Second Life, for instance when you are trying to close second life to restart. It is invisible, until you hover over it. There are no prims, and I have returned to owners all objects manually. I have blocked guests and all editing except from me, but I can't get it off. What is it, other then malicious, and how do I get it off?

 

I have tried to return objects through the about land > objects tab. the items do not show up.

You should be able to return all objects.  Go to your "About Land" and on the "Objects" tab you will see how many prims are being used and the number available.  You'll also see objects that are owned by you and others with a button to "Show" and another button to "Return".  Return all objects you don't own.  You can return the ones you do own if you want.

If it's your land, you should be able to return the object to its owner.   If you know where it is, select it, right click, and choose Return.  If you don't know where it is, use About Land >> Objects to see the list of objects on the parcel, then highlight the one you want to return and select Return.

You might wearing the object that is teleporting you. Type the word Worn into inventory to see what you are wearing.

I've heard of Ghosted objects but not ghosted scripts.

If the land shows -0- objects and the available prims is what it should be; nothing should be happening. You could request for the Region to be restarted.

You might try contacting the Owner of the land where the devices teleports you. Ask them to remove the device or for additional information about it.

You could file a Ticket with Support.

Have you witnessed other Residents being effected by the device?

Is it possible the device is on an adjacent Property and you are falling in range of the object?

The other replies do not appear to be addressing the issues you state:

1. "Teleports avatars to their business" - should not be possible.  OFFERS a teleport, yes.  Teleports, no.
2. "Blocks them from leaving" - should not be possible.  At all.
3. ".. or using control panels" - not sure what control panels you mean there.
4. "Locks the[m] in the view" - should not be possible without permissions take_control, control_camera, etc.
5. "Affects ... programs outside of Second Life" - should not be possible (except limited browser control)
6. ".. second life to restart" - should not be possible, especially as you have to log in at startup
7. "There are no prims" - should not be possible but the occassional script has escaped

Someone needs to check what's happening here but I can't get in-world at the moment
