0 Storm Clarence
Repetitive error message about the webkit failing, and that you are using Windows. You need to set the program "slplugin.exe" to run in Windows 95 compatability mode. Instructions for Windows XP.... Go to the SecondLife.... installation directory, right click on the file "slplugin.exe" and select "Properties". The properties dialog should open. Click the "Compatability" tab; check the checkbox that says "Run this program in compatability mode for..." and choose "Windows 95" from the dropdown control underneath it. Does this help? 0 Rolig Loon
The instructions at http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=media&s[]=webkit are very helpful, regardless of which viewer you are using. Take a look.
0 Peggy Paperdoll
Are you sure about Windows 95? Since I've been in SL (Octorber, 2005) the minium system requirements have aways been XP or later for a Windows machine. 95 would never run SL (as would 98, 98SE, Milenium Edition not run either). http://secondlife.com/support/system-requirements/ Windows 95 is the first Windows platform after Windows 3.1 (which is the very first Windows platform at all..........MSDOS 6.xx was before that). 95 in it's hayday was popular 15 or 16 years ago..........I don't think a modern program in use today would even run on a 95 machine. Why would a modern plug-in like Webkit have to run on an outdated, obsolete operating system (actually 95 was not even an operating system but just a graphical MSDOS operating system). Running anything in capatibility mode would be running in the XP mode at the earliest..........Microsoft does not suuport any of it's previous OS's earlier than XP (and XP's days are numbered). 0 NaKai Yifu
Windows 8 and the SL viewer.... I right clicked on the exe file and ran it under compatibility mode. This resolved the issue on my ASUS laptop. Hope this helps. - Nak
0 Rolig Loon
Probably not. The OP asked this question two years ago.
