Matthews Bearsfoot
Hi I have been told that if you don't access your account for a period of time that Linden labs delete your account . Can someone tell me if this is true and the time scale.
0 valerie Inshan
No it is not true. That's a rumour. You may let your account "sleep" for an indeterminate period, it will not be deleted.
0 Nyll Bergbahn
It's untrue. This is a false rumour that has been posted in a number of group chats and is complete nonsense.
0 Rolig Loon
You have heard the latest version of a stupid rumor that has been floating around SL for at least as long as I have been here (four and a half years). Let me quote directly from Rhett Linden, who answered this question the other day for educators on the SLED list: "We are not planning to do anything with your accounts or alt accounts. It's in our interest to ensure you have access to your account."
0 PeterCanessa Oh
Now to upset the ladies ... Yes, it's true - for a given value of 'true'. There is a special case: IF you have a premium account and do not pay account or tier fees LL will first put your account on hold and then delete it. For this reason premium residents expecting to be absent from SL for a while should downgrade to basic account first. Basic accounts are only deleted for legal reasons (if then). 0 Rolig Loon
Hehehe.. They will certainly freeze your Premium account when you are in arrears for more than one billing cycle, Peter. I'm not sure that they will delete it even then, though.
