title on groups

I started a family group and tried to put in a title for everyone and when i put mine in it cuts it off and only shows part of it how can i fix it

There's a 20 character limit to group titles.  If you try to type more, the rest will not show.

Hmmmm.... That's odd. It's only 16. Length isn't the problem then, unless you're trying to type a mess of blank spaces in it. They count too.

BTW, be VERY careful about using non-alphanumeric characters in group titles, if you were thinking of doing that. If you log out while wearing a tag with "illegal" characters (like hearts or Japanese kanji), you won't be able to log back in. It's very difficult to cure that problem too.

No, I think your choice is fine. Just don't write something like  . I was simply warning you in case the thought crossed your mind. About once a week we get a note from some distraught person who is locked out of SL because he didn't use simple letters, numbers, and basic punctuation in a group tag.

No, I do not. We only know of ones that do NOT work because we know that people have tried them and failed. Using Korean characters, for example, is apparently a bad choice. The best way to avoid the problem altogether is to use standard letters A-Z and numbers.
