Don't do it. If you do, you can be banned.  Just walk away and find someplace else to enjoy SL.  It's a big place.

Hello flafl and welcome to SL Forums. The best you have to do is to run away. If someone does something bad, it doesn't mean that is good to do the same. Generally if someone annoys you, you can report him/her. Under Menu Help you choose Report Abuse and follow the instructions.

It will prevent you from being pushed around by people and many griefing objects although by no means a defence against more complex weapons. I've seen idiots at welcome areas running around hitting people. This will stop them moving you while still allowing you full freedom of movement.
