Well here goes I'm getting a DNS error message upon my log ins, the only way it seems I can get in 50% of the time is to uninstall and reinstall the client. I'm not running extras, and just want to get back into the game. I can log into the website no problems there at www.secondlife.com, but in the client to get in nothing, have tried clearning cache, changing passwords, etc and still am unable to get in... any help would be great thx all. Sad SL user ready to give up for good if I can't get this fixed :(

Hello Misha. It is a known problem especially for users with Macs. See: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-25627

At the following link described a solution for your problem. You can give a try:

 http://neilrobinson.wordpress.com/2008/05/19/a-fix-for-dns-errors/

You need to add the following additional DNS servers to your DNS settings in Network settings under System Preferences:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

In addition check out the following like for possible solutions:

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Troubleshooting_DNS_login_issues

Last thought, download an older version of V2 and set your software updates no to be installed automatically. (Preferences --> Setup --> Hardware)

Good luck.
