Question

Seriously, whats up with the market and these delays recieving items.  20 minutes to wait seems now to be normal and has been for several weeks?  Are there issues? Whats the deal?  If this is going to be normal I'm going to have to stop using it and can't see anyone else wanting much to use it either.

Hello Ceri and welcome to SL Forums. According LL you must to wait up to 24  hours (although sometimes you get your purchases immidiately after some seconds). If this time expires, you can start to worry.  Personally i don't think that 20 mins is so long time, when many users have problems with undelivered items.

Not that it helps now, but here are a couple of important guidelines to remember for the future.  These are major causes for delivery delays or failures from Marketplace:

(1) Don't overuse the shopping cart. It is easily confused if you put more than a couple of things in it. The weakest link in the Markeplace system is the merchant's Magic Box.  It is a scripted container that the merchant has placed on a sim somewhere in SL. If the sim is lagging or down for maintenance, or if the Magic Box is overloaded or malfunctioning, delivery can be slow or fail altogether.  LL has been testing a new delivery system, but for now the best way to make this one work for you is to keep your orders as simple as possible. (Or to shop in world and avoid it completely.)

(2) Don't buy things from Marketplace (especially LOTS of things) unless you are in world to receive them at the time. We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time. That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened.
