Does anyone know someone involved in a romance scam or have been involved in one yourself?

I think my friend was scammed by an Australia chick. She saw him and immediately started flirting with him. They exchanged pics and talked on the phone. She claimed to be in love after only two weeks of talking to him. I've had a foreign guy tell me he was in love after a week and so did my sister. So, said she was gonna come visit him in September, but for one reason or another kept landing in the hospital. When he googled her name and told her nothing came up, she told him it was the wrong name and would explain everything when they met. Unfortunately, they never got to meet, fainted when she was about to finally get on webcam with him, one of her aneurysms burst and she is now brain dead. Does any of this sound familiar?
