Enhancing Shadows in Firestorm?

Recommended Posts

There is a simple and surprisingly effective trick: Switch to Kirsten's. If you want purdy shadows and don't mind frame rates below ten, Kirsten's viewer is the way to go. If you currently use Firestorm, you're already used to the crappy v2/3 interface, so it shouldn't really matter.

This is how blocky and ugly shadows look in all other viewers (including Firestorm and Phoenix), at least on my PC:

And this is how smooth and realistic Kirsten's viewer renders shadows:

Of course this kind of awesomeness comes at a price. Not only is Kirsten's slow as molasses, you also have to put up with the crappy v2 interface. It's your choice... either the phlegmatic beauty who couldn't cook a marshmallow with a blowtorch, or the performant beast who... well, it's Firestorm we're talking about here, so the beast can't cook $#!7 either. Or something. It's supposed to be a metaphor for the horrible v2 UI. I'm not good with metaphors. Sue me.
