How can I solve my issue? I cannot connect to the simulator. Repost

So I've been looking into my problem and I've found out that the likely cause for me not being able to log in is the group tag I crashed with.  Error I have tells me that it is unable to connect to the simulator.  Please let me know the best possible way to correct my group error without being able to log in.  I have no alts in the group, I have no friends that are able to do anything to assist me in the group.  Help meh please!

I am the group's only owner as I would have to manually leave it or activate a different title.  So there is no way that could be done at this time without physically logging into SL and doing it myself.

I had actually thought of that and attempted to remove the display of the tags for my viewing only.  No luck.  I've also created a case via contacting linden labs to see if they can help.  Any other thoughts?

 

After the long wait to have the case reviewed by LL they have more or less told me that I can either figure out a way to fix it here or pay them monthly for them to fix it.  That it isn't covered by them for basic members.  As a known bug it shouldn't be that much of a headache for people having the issue to get it resolved, I cannot afford a monthly fee right now,  please help.

The only way to fix it, as you have discovered, is to get LL to do it.  You don't have access to Live Chat unless you are a Premium member, and that's the only way that you can communicate with LL to get their help on a technical issue.  Therefore, you will have to pay the fee, move up to Premium and get their assistance, and then drop back to Basic membership.  It will cost you one month's Premium fee, but unless you do it, you're not going to be getting in world at all on that account.  Sorry.  :smileysad:

They offer no support to basic accounts when it comes to log in issues. None at all. Even with an SL wide bug. That seems a little unprofessional. I understand it being a money-driven business but, that's a little much in my opinion. Oh well, looks like I'm going on hiatus from SL until I get some money in my pocket. Thanks for your help.

I truly sympathize. I have been a basic member for 4 and a half years and have been lucky not to need direct technical support myself. Hurry back. Until then your avatar will just relax quietly.

If switching off group tags in your preferences doesn`t help & you are the only person in your group with the power to change text on name tags, then your options are very limited without supports help.

Is it a small group with no land or other complications? If so, you could get your alt to kick everyone out or ask them to leave so that you are left as the only member & the group gets deleted, but that is a bit drastic if it is more than a small social group.

Maestro Linden has been very helpful at resolving these issues in the past, you could try asking him if he can help, but he may just say upgrade too.

If you can afford to pay $72 for a years premium, it does actually end up only costing you $5.60 for the year after the weekly stipend & bonus that you get back during the year.
